I don't get this attitude some people have, where they think they can dictate the precise direction any discussion under a post they make
  • I have no idea, half the fun of posting is reading the comments. Being exposed to novel views and other opinions is both humbling and sometimes a learning experience. If someone wants to steer a conversation in a certain direction, it sounds like they're looking for affirmation, rather than discussion.

  • European Commission decided the US is safe from a privacy standpoint for data transfers (WTF?)
  • Hardly an expert, but isn't these rules basically the same as in privacy shield?

AFAIK the US are not going to change anything about FISA 702 and with this agreement in place it sounds like business as usual for the NSA.

  • Reddit has a new AI training deal to sell user content
  • Ah, more glue on pizza incoming. Personally I don't understand taking reddit posts as a source for LLM training. It's like they never visited reddit and think that all posts/comments are true, or even useful. Depending on the sub, sarcasm can account for anywhere from 5% to 100%.

  • The future of mobile devices?

I wonder if the charging port on mobile devices will go the way of the 3.5mm jack and be replaced with Qi and other wireless charging protocols. I also wonder if we will be forced into Bluetooth for all extension devices we used to connect to usb-c.

    Helm chart repository

I'm currently setting up my homelab using k3s and helm. Normally I use the official charts from the projects themselves, but I'm a bit lost when trying to install software that don't have official helm charts. Are there any searchable trusted resources for helm charts?
