i came here to say something similar: reddit is the only place that has more than basic information on something like this and i wish there was a way that i didn' t have to recommend reddit.

thus giving abbott the political boost that he wanted from his base while simultaneous giving him the ability to say that he never really wanted the law but executed the will of the people in one fell swoop; abbott is smarter than he looks.

a scared white man; plus hundreds to thousands of people in an entire organization of people tasked with safety of the public protecting that white man; plus the hundreds to thousands of people in a judicial system that can openly sweep it under the run to protect that white man; plus the hundreds of thousands to millions of people that make up the plebiscite that doesn't give a rat's ass about it effectively protecting that white man.

yes, it happens anywhere else in the world too and the only indictment that matter is if any of philadelphia's organizations with clout doesn't at lest try to do something about it; lip service and/or promises don't count, that shit just for the dumbasses and texans who accept eating shit like democrats do and why i moved away.

i was considering moving to philadelphia and now i'm glad i didn't and i understand that the corrupt police and courts are everywhere; i'm just glad i got to dodge this one bullet out of many.

anecdotally: stay away from state and local governments and go with non-profits.

big corporations enjoy a permanent stranglehold over state and local agencies and it's so bad that it's entrenched in perpetuity in all but name to the corporation that charges for the service so you might as well be working for that corporation or else you'll get paid much less and your presence will only serve to help justify that perpetuity.

when i tried this i ended up working in government and went back because i realized that i was only enabling big tech to maintain their grip on state agencies.

i would expect the biden administration to act in secret to break up these strikes since doing so hurt them so bad politically during the railroad strike and now i wonder if we will ever learn about that they are/will-be doing.

The meso American version of this is so fascinating because they built so many civilization supporting infrastructures and then seemingly forgot or just stopped how to using them leading to a collapse several times over.

i suspect that this lack of detail is characteristic of the sanctions. my head hasn't been in the semiconductor game for decades, but any laymen like me could see that the sanctions had obvious loopholes that enabled china to proceed and i wonder if that's intentional or because the politicians lacked this kind of detailed knowledge.

use lspci to find out if a module (aka driver) is running and google the pci id's if there isn't one. the man page or google can show you how to do this.

alternatively, you could use dmesg to show you what happens (if anything) when you plug/unplug your device. if nothing happens then you'll still need to google your device's pci id's. to see if there's a module for it.
