the progress brings me hope. I am curious how long the press will read like this. IRL ppl don't really seem to care where knowledge or material is coming from as long as the price is decent and the quality is good. Also, anecdotally, certain niche industrial machines (way less common than anything related to cars or solar panels) that I'm familiar with are made by companies all over the world. However, Chinese manufacturers make machines that are identical (operationally and I can imagine materially) to machines made by American, Italian, German or Turkish companies for 1/10 or 1/5 the price. The barrier simply seems to be communication. Chinese companies' sales teams do reach out via email in English, however (I'm told) they don't seem to have a strong presence at trade shows. So many little things make it plain to see that everyone besides the bourgeoisie would have it better in a world that cooperated JDPON style

Weapons grade copium: EU to demand technology transfers from Chinese companies

Brussels is planning to force Chinese companies to transfer intellectual property to European businesses in return for EU subsidies as part of a tougher trade regime for clean technologies. New criteria requiring Chinese businesses to have factories in Europe and share technological knowhow will be introduced when Brussels invites bids for €1bn of grants to develop batteries in December, according to two senior EU officials. The pilot could be rolled out to other EU subsidy schemes, they said. The requirements, while at much smaller scale, echo China’s own regime, which pressures foreign companies into sharing their intellectual property in exchange for access to the Chinese market. The criteria could be subject to change ahead of the tender, officials said. The plans represent part of a hardening stance from Europe towards China as it seeks to protect companies in the bloc — subject to strict environmental regulations — from being undercut by cheap and more polluting imports.

I understand that making a game requires a team of talented people & all that. But generally I feel like the most impactful narratives come from games where there is a singular passionate creative steering the whole thing. Some games like that are almost entirely a one man show like Undertale for example. Dark souls you only ever hear Miyazaki's name really. I don't really have overwhelming evidence off hand for my theory here it's just kinda a vibe. I'm sure one could whip up examples of splintering artists surpassing the previous project as counter examples

I am really sorry about this. I failed to navigate this with a much, much shorter relationship. If you're really in love, I would recommend against choosing to be staunchly more based than her. No one resents anything more than someone telling them they are constantly wrong about anything and fact of the matter is that your specific relationship and her opinions will not affect the genocide. Remember, few people hold true conviction. Most are just vibing.

only caught the subreddit towards the end bc i was going to school and focused. covid rolled around so i was wasting more time on the computer. also allowed normie me (NM) more time to consider politic ideology more patiently beyond “never join the military” so NM was looking for information.

the subreddit was entertaining and also was the logical extension of the Bernie vibe which NM was on board with wholeheartedly. He made me want to go vote and give $20 to a politician.

That ended, NM was left with nothing on the computer besides a job, video games, and the desire to browse supplementary sites for video game discussion (which NM had sworn off to focus on school). The old browsing habits turned into reading about politics and the news and I honest to god think i found the subreddit bc ppl were posting on reddit in general about the donald getting banned and any left wing subs getting quarantined. Joined the discord, joined the site. This is i think my third account. the site got me to read non fiction that actually made sense. i’d always loved reading but it had to grab me. The read settlers posters were right.

stayed bc it’s the only place where the text on my phone/computer reads as sober. Everyone else where people aren’t explicitly posting as communists reads as asinine. I also like only having to open one website to get shitposts, news, discussion, and the occasional sincere blogpost about people’s lives. Oh and there was that recent fundraiser too, that was heartwarming.
