  • Many of the contradictions and crises of Capitalism are still present even under worker coop models in a market economy. Surplus value is still extracted, that money must be reinvested in the business to remain competitive. Meaning the Tendency of The Rate of Profit to Fall Remains, meaning capitalist crises remain. Imperialist incentives remain, and a worker coop nation-state would be equally imperialist as one with private corporations.

    I don't really think its functionally different in the USA (or other liberal states). Democrats and Republicans are quite literally "Party Approved Candidates". The presence of independents is incidental, and the USSR had independents in its parliament as well. This is why I view both the USA and USSR as "democratic", but I would view neither as socialist.

  • There are definitely "right-wing" anarchist currents that are popular and not as unhinged as how "anarcho-capitalism" is generally characterized, as in, anarchism that espouses the use of capitalism, but I have not really seen any genuinely "socially conservative", anarchists. Pacifism is reactionary and emboldens the status quo.

  • You can't have Capitalist elements like, commodity production, wage-labor, money, markets, and call that "socialism". All of the inherent contradictions and harms of capitalism remain (because its capitalism), like theft of surplus value, imperialism, and alienation.

  • The term leftist is considered to come from the fact that people sitting on the "Left" in the Estates General in France. Generally, liberals, (Jacobins, Third Estate). There is very poor sourcing for this online, but Wikipedia cites some untranslated difficult to source french book.

    In mainstream discourse, "left" takes on a number of meanings, but to the extent that left is meant to mean anti-capitalist, and/or, Marxist, anarchism has left wing currents, hence, left wing anarchism.

  • The USSR was just as capitalist as the PRC. Because it had generalized commodity production and wage-labor. You can't have a socialist mode of production in just one country, as the interaction with capitalist countries will infect your system.

    The PRC is a highly technocratic advanced capitalist democracy, and yes, it will likely outpace the west in a number of key statistics over time, that doesn't make it socialist, because the productive mode is capitalism.

    These figures mark Trump’s worst-ever performance with LGBT voters — who make up about 8% of the population.

    To blame transgender people, who make up a minority of the US population and electorate is not only untrue, as LGBT resoundedly voted democrat, but its also disgusting to somehow blame our oppression on ourselves. The Democrats lost this election because they failed to address the economic issues of the working class, and instead focused on centrist pandering and immigration. Democrats cannot advocate for the working class because ultimately they are beholden to the ruling class elites.

    ‘Economy’ is a buzzword to them.

    This mind reading of what Republican or the Average Voter "really believes" provides no value. It was consistently shown both before, and after this election, the main concern of the people of the United States was that of the economy, and the worsening of their material conditions through inflation. It can be seen in the rhetoric of the Republican party, through terms such as "drain the swamp", that the electorate of the United States is voting for a Trump as revenge against some kind of Evil Ruling Elite (The Bourgeoisie), while failing to recognize that Trump and the Republican party is a reactionary bourgeoisie party like the democrats.

    Thank you for reinforcing my point. Viewing politics as a series of isolated incidents performed for an audience of completely reasonable voters is utterly absurd, even in an ideal hypothetical situation, much less the current US.

    No idea how this is relevant to what I said. The Democratic Party supported this anti-trans bill that will lead to the deaths of transgender people.

  • Imagine being this desperate to absolve the electorate for voting in fascism.

    1. The turnout of this election was 63.9%, meaning around 88084000 people did not vote for either of the two candidates. That is more votes than for Trump or Harris, making "No One" the real winner of the popular vote. The USA bourgeoisie liberal democratic political system cannot garner large support of the population to "legitimize" it through the process of election.
    2. Republican, AND all voters voters consistently ranked the economy as the number one issue to them this election. Voters flock to Trump due to his perceived opposition to the ruling class of the United States, and the injury to their economic conditions under Biden, mainly through inflation. Fascism coats itself in populist rhetoric to the confused but class conscious, proletariat.

    I’m sorry that you have no understanding of how legislature and politics actually function.

    Democrats control the Senate, and The Presidency. The house has one of the most razor thin majorities in US history. There is simply no world where this bill passed if the Democrats didn't support it.

  • The democratic party is a bourgeoisie party that serves the interests of the ruling class, just like the Republicans. It is irrelevant what you say or do, the outcome of elections is determined by the bourgeoisie of the United States. Democrats have made numerous promises to protect trans people and yet, 121 democrats voted for this bill.

    This anti-trans bill was passed with support from the Democrats. The bourgeoisie political parties of the United States will never protect your human rights, especially when dollars for the military are on the line.
