To those who hate anime, why do you hate it?
  • Considering most anime is low effort schlock that contains episodic plots that get nowhere (and even linear narratives tend to progress at the speed of molasses), if somebody tells me they "like anime" without elaborating, I think less of them then if they told me they "like music."

  • Gender roles are important or not?
  • It's not difficult to hold two ideas simultaneously:

X is important (because people decided to make it that way)

X shouldn't be important (and wouldn't be, if people hadn't made it that way)

  • Who is "End Wokeness", a data filled journey
  • I don't mind the content, but this guy starts the video by poisoning the well against himself. At least, when somebody describes using technology to launder drone strikes, that's what it does to me.

  • Now that Joe is out what rhetoric from the right (and left) are you going to completely ignore?
  • "Kamala is not American" is coming.

She spent several years in Canada, so we have Canadian yearbook photos. And if conservatives can say Barack Obama is not American, and anti-immigrant sentiment is rising, they will definitely do it about her.

  • What makes you feel like you're in the future right now?
  • I really like how those first two are basic science, but somebody was actually able to innovate them into doing something useful.

I wish more technology was like this, and not whatever the crypto/metaverse/NFT/AI people are doing (mostly mistaking fluff for innovation)

  • If an artist trains an image generation AI on their own digital art catalog, should they be able to get a copyright on what it produces? When does a tool change from a tool to a non-human creator?
  • Are you talking about an artist exclusively running their images through an AI model until it is capable of regenerating images that look like it was created by them and have some semblance of intent?

In order to get anything that looks remotely like what people want, I'm pretty sure they would have to upload millions of pictures of their own creation first. So most people just layer their images on top of the giant mash of ethically sketchy data that already was there.
