  • Celebrated it once in Munich and was told it's the second biggest St Patrick's parade in Europe, but don't know if it's true. It was definitely fun, but thanks to a parade member I suffered some hearing loss cause he screamed out of nowhere right into my ear (he was dressed as a viking and thought it would be funny to "scare" people). So no intention going back personally.

And I learned that it's an American tradition partying and celebrating loudly and the old Irish way is a very quiet and serious one, no partying at all. Did it change? Do people in Ireland celebrate the day like parts in the rest of the world?

  • That is the whole insurance business. It is nothing but a bet if you look at it by a single policy. E.g. your insurance bets you'll probably die at 70, so when you hit 71 you paid more than you get when you die. Your insurance wins. But when you die at 55 you "win" the bet. But because there isn't just one but thousands of policies those bets aren't bets anymore, they're nothing but statistics. And one part is keeping track and calculating how old people born in year xy, in country ... with the gender zxy are going to be.

  • Nope. I don't know exactly why but it seems that e.g. a trans man is more likely to die in a stupid accident like driving a motorcycle without a helmet at 200km/h and vice versa. It isn't much of a medicine aspect and more of a lifestyle one.

  • Maybe because Russia "hacked" (if the rumours are true, Russia just dialed in) a German defence conference and played the audio track of it with topics of the war in a news show. If Ukraine hacked into russia defence stuff, it shows they're not that great and untouchable.

  • Nothing of high, high value either but one time I bought a box full of Yu-Gi-Oh cards at a garage sale. It was just a small christmas box but full of cards, often even in sleeves. The guy who sold it even asked me if he should get rid of them. He didn't know the box had something in it and thought I just wanted the box itself. I denied and asked for the price. The lowest he could get was 50ct for an item. Since it was a box and cards it was 2 items, so 1€ in total. The most valuable card is around 30€ at the moment, the full box around 100-120€.

  • A lot has been said and it's absolutely true. Just take your time. Even if the games starts to feel like you should rush you don't have to, there is no time limit.

Just 2 things I want to add:

    • if the fishing mini game feels to hard, go to Willy (the fishing shop where you get your first fishing rod) and buy the training rod, it costs 25G and makes the first steps so much easier. Just remember to throw it away after the first 3 or so fishing levels, cause you can only catch the basic fish with it no matter your skill level.
    • Use the wiki: even though the last updates made it easier to figure stuff like loved presents for each NPC, it's still a pain in the a**. And after so many updates (or more free add ons), there is a lot of stuff you can do and sometimes have to know otherwise it can be frustrating.
  • Mostly from small people either tricked into buying the "new bitcoin/Nvidia/apple/... before it's to late or dumb people hyped by other dumb people into buying it. And if enough small people invested and the stock rises the big player collect the profit.

  • The Fleur de Lis is a common symbol throughout history (I think the first images of one was found at mesopotamia). In modern history it's common in France but also as the symbol of the city Florence. And now I'm not quiet sure, but my guess is the Medici, the ruling family of Florence had a big influence about the Fleur de lis spread around Italy.

  • As sad as it is I think you're right. The same was said about facebook and even though they had a bumpy road it's bigger than ever before. Nothing being sold at the stock market follows any logical rules, it's so much emotion that sells stuff. And as long as it makes money, nobody cares about racism or pedophilia or any other bad thing. I thought that's why we hate capitalism that much.

  • If I understood you correctly that's nothing you can learn. It just happens for most people when they see something they like or admire. I myself have trouble with stuff like that, but that's because I have a soft form of autism and an anxiety disorder so keeping track and not losing myself completely in a situation is mandatory for not going insane.

  • I'm really bad at name creation and wanted to try a character in an online game. Who could have guessed the name "try" was already taken... So I turned it around, it sounded alright for a dwarf char and 15 years later it's still my username.

  • It depends what you want. If you play on console and PC then maybe if you also like the games offered. And maybe even cloudgaming on a mobile phone or tablet but that's often only possible with a controller.

For me the gamepass is great cause I like playing on pc and Xbox and I share it with my girlfriend, so there is always a game she or I like. And a big take away for me is the "demo" mode. I have really bad motion sickness, so I can't play a lot of games. But the bad part is, most games are great the first couple of hours cause it's mostly a tutorial area and these often are better then the rest of a game. So even if I'm allowed to get a refund if I played less then 2 hours, its mostly 3-4 hours after the motion sickness startes. And after that I have lost 60-80 bucks for a game I can never play again. And with the gamepass I can try a lot of games I'm not sure I can play and can just stop if it's not working, without loosing extra money. I tried so many games in the last months I wouldn't have bought and some of them I can play a the way till the end. It's great!

  • Yep, normal range is 3x a day to every 3 days. More or less is possible but that should be checked by a doctor. If it was always once every 5-7 days it's probably nothing and normal for you. If something changes about the rhythm then go see a doctor and that can mean you're one of the once every 3 days people and now you poop daily. Even if it's inside the range, go see a doctor!

And one myth: if your body is the slow type like every 2-3 days or even 3-5 days fibre and stuff won't help, it's just a heavier poop (in weight) after 5 days than usual.
