OpenAI Pleads That It Can’t Make Money Without Using Copyrighted Materials for Free
  • They used that part of the 13th that said "Well, except prisoners, those can be slaves." Local law enforcement rounded up former slaves on trumped up charges and leased them back to the same plantation owners they were freed from. Only now if they escaped they were "escaped criminals" and they could count on even northern law enforcement returning them. The US is still a pro-slavery country and will be as long as that part of the 13th amendment stands.

  • Capital is never satisfied paying ANYONE - blue collar labor only begins building when slavery is no longer an option
  • The US still used slavery as a source of labor up until about the mid 20th century. Southern states would do "prisoner leasing", where prisoners were basically given to farmers and plantation owners to do labor for free. It started right after the end of the Civil War. Many black boys and men were arrested on trumped up charges and "leased" back to the same plantation owners they were freed from.

  • The park in my parent's neighborhood got rid of all the benches
  • The problem is that businesses see it as a way to drive customers into their stores where they can then demand they either buy something or leave. This is end stage capitalism bullshit where they're trying to wring blood from a stone.

  • The park in my parent's neighborhood got rid of all the benches
  • Then there's the whole corporate aspect. How can you expect corporate businesses to drive people to be in their stores if you let them loiter around outside on government provided benches? If the only place to sit is in a Starbucks and they require you to buy something to stay in the store, well...

  • More Voters, Especially Women, Now Say Abortion Is Their Top Issue: Donald Trump is shifting his stance on reproductive rights, but voters, by a wide margin, say that they trust Kamala Harris on issue
  • Trump won Texas by only 6% against Biden. At 5% it means he's slipping here. If the apathetic Texas Democrats can bother to get off their asses, they'd see this state flip. At the very least we can kick Fled Cruz to the curb. Hell, he's polling with less of a lead than when he won in 2018, too. Texas is primed to flip and show the DNC that they can take it from the GOP.
