  • I've been here for awhile and have a pretty good understanding of how federation works. Number (3) was a very concise way to explain how the All feed works. I sort of knew but that really helped me understand.

Number (7), I will suggest the use of the cross-posting feature. Post to the larger community for engagement but also cross-post to the smaller communities to help them grow. Quiet communities are a cat-and-mouse game where people don't post or comment because no one else is. The more people start to engage, the more others will start to engage.

  • I wish the language tag was used more extensively. But I understand that most people won't bother with selecting the language of their post/comment each time.

I think the language selection should be automatically set for each post if you only have one language selected on your profile, or even an option to default to one if you have more selected.

  • Yeah, that pretty much sounds like the exact same thing here.

  • If it kept coming up, simply tapping the checkmark button on the keyboard to "complete" the search would stop it for me.

  • Is the country between France and Poland called, Deutschland, Allemagne, or Germany?

It's completely outside of the borders of the US but the name used for that country is completely different from then name people from that area would call it.

Which name is right? Which name should be displayed on the map? It depends on a few things.

  • Downloaded what though? OpenStreetMap is just a data source. There are a number of different maps that use it.

I haven't used it in awhile but I think Magic Earth has traffic data, I'm not sure where it's sourced from but the map data they use is from OSM.

  • I guess we shouldn't be putting any money towards the border then if he's just going to put tariffs in place anyway.

  • 19% Oppose

    So it's a majority then.

  • I hope the US agreed to the same thing for Canada, too.

Pretty much all of Canada's gun crimes are committed with weapons smuggled in from the States.

  • It took me a few minutes to figure out, too.

I got tired of scrolling after just getting to Meat, so the list is appreciated.

  • Video game consoles

Seems like this is limited to arcade machines and playing cards.

    • Other games, operated by coins, banknotes, bank cards, tokens or by other means of payment, other than automatic bowling alley equipment
    • Playing cards
  • Tariff Item No. 1205.10.00

Rape from the US is now being taxed. I guess I'll just stick with Canadian rape, keep it local.

  • Isn't this the same as blaming Biden for high gas prices?

  • I don't know what your technical abilities are, but setting up something like Navidrome could be the ideal compromise.

  • On an LCD display, the backlight is always on but the crystals need power to align and let the backlight through.

A full white screen would in theory use more electricity than a full black screen. How much more, I don't actually know but I would like to know more info in it.

  • I really don't understand this compulsion people have to publicly announce their political support.

Like, this guy could have just said nothing, literally just not do anything, and he'd be better off.

  • When I select the speaker in Music Assistant and play a song, the player shows up with all of the details but it's just paused.

When I press the play button in MA, nothing happens. Not even an error.

If I press play on the speaker, the last song that was playing before I selected a song in MA starts playing. The player will show my selected track as playing but it's the previous song coming out of the speaker. I can pause the song from MA but I cannot resume. If I resume it from the speaker, the MA player updates to the song that was previously playing and then I cannot control the speaker from MA.

  • Yeah. I did see in the docs that there can be issues with Unifi networks, which I have, or with special setups but I did try a few of the settings it mentioned with no luck.

The only thing "special" with my network is I'm using a 10.x.x.x/8 subnet mask. The part that confuses me is the speakers are added with no issue.
