  • Yeah, why has that become so common lately? My home page keeps getting more nonsense garbage in it with like 10 views from random people

  • With your username, he might be getting more than he bargained for

  • I feel like everyone who knew enough to know about Allo was also acutely aware that Google would probably kill it, and it would really suck to move friends to an app that’s just gonna join the graveyard with the dozen others

  • Death by snu snu? 👉👈

  • The Grudge. I saw it when I was maybe 7 or 8? I was at an Aunts house with some older brothers that had it on. Honestly I barely remember actually watching it, but good lord it scarred me until I was at least 18 or so. I could never get the image of hair growing out of random places, turning into something terrifying out of my head whenever I was showering and stuff. I still haven’t rewatched it :D I’m quite a scaredy cat when it comes to horror movies already and I could totally see it giving me nightmares again if it’s anything like I remember as a kid

  • I love Linux but this just isn’t true. There are still quite a few games like PUBG that can’t work thanks to anticheat, which are often the kinds of games I’m less likely to stop playing to switch because I’ve got friends I’d like to play it with

  • My town has a “bike week” every few months it feels like, where all the people with their way too damn loud bikes get the privilege of blocking off half the city for a week to.. I don’t even know?? Drink, I guess? Whatever the case, a major road becomes impassable and the entire city gets too loud to have a conversation on the sidewalk. It’s awful, god knows why the city thinks it’s a good idea. Ugh, now l’m annoyed again just thinking about it…

  • Often enough to give me trust issues

  • It's a systemd timer included within Arch that runs fstrim every week.

  • Was the original not also an Alienware kinda design?

As shallow as it is, that’s one of the reasons I’ve been waiting for a refresh to buy one. I thought the OG was gaudy and trying too hard to look “futuristic” for me to want to have it next to my TV. Seems the slim carries on the tradition unfortunately…

  • As a regular user who doesn’t do any dev work but likes to keep tabs on various projects, Gitlab all the way. It has an interface to track issues specific to a given version, giving you an easy way to gauge progress on upcoming releases and see what the holdups are. I’ve not found any kind of analog for that on GitHub unfortunately, but maybe I just haven’t looked in the right place

  • Safety isn’t just about the driver though, you also have to think about what happens when they hit pedestrians or other cars. I gotta say, there’s a lot of vehicles I’d much rather be hit by than this if I had a choice

  • It’s more technically correct. 6000mt/s ram is actually operating at 3000mhz, but is called 6000 because of the “double” part of “double data rate”. Colloquially it’s easy to just say 6000mhz because that’s the verbiage used for everything else, but it’s not entirely accurate. Whether that really matters is up to you ahaha. I don’t remember exactly what caused LTT to switch, but part of me wants to say it was a petty response to some “well ackshually” comments on YT

  • That’s nothing new though, that’s been Gnomes thing for over a decade

  • Yeah, that'd definitely be another big improvement. At least Safari doesn't add to Chrome's marketshare though

  • I'm glad :D The raccoon subreddits were some of my fav back on reddit. I've got a huge folder full of raccoon pictures saved from over the years that I figure I can use to help fill out the lemmy community instead of just lurking, so I'm gonna try to keep a steady stream of them coming!
