What are your favourite open source games?
  • Xonotic is one that i would reccomend heavily, and it's an arena shooter

  • What was the game you were the most patient for?
  • Morrowind would be my choice, since there was almost a decade long gap between when i first wanted to play the game and when i actually played it. it didn't reach my expectations but that doesnt matter that much to me since i still really liked that game. i didn't finish it in my first playthrough, but i did once i got around to doing my second

  • Elder Scrolls Online is free on Epic right now
  • that works as well, but there is a linux client called heroic that works for both epic and gog which helps makes things simpler for setting up the games to work, so i think that would be easier than using proton or lutris

  • [WINNER: OPTION B] Choose Voyager's icon!
  • it is a webapp so you dont download it on your phone, it's a website vger.app

  • [Openbox] Crunchbang++ do be looking nice
  • that browser is luakit

  • [KDE] Windows 7 Landscapes
  • my bad i misremembered what the icon looked like

  • [KDE] Windows 7 Landscapes
  • i think that icon is the vista one in the left corner though

  • [Openbox] Very first post of mine in here
  • do you remember which bar you used and where you found that openbox theme?

  • mlmym.org is a front end for Lemmy that looks just like old reddit. It provides a familiar experience
  • there is a way to run it locally using docker it shows on the github repository

  • How it going here? I'm looking forward to helping fuck up Reddit's IPO.
  • Slide

the slide fork happened already, and it's in this repository https://github.com/bqv/slide but its still far from finished

  • Lemmy enjoys growth as developers pivot from Reddit amid API charging controversy
  • wefwef was renamed voyager a few days ago

Linux Desktop Market share reaches 3.08%
  • well that sounds like good news

  • Deleted
    *Permanently Deleted*
  • sounds great. this is why i wish mobile phones had something equivalent to a standard of some kind (is it called uefi/bios or something) so that it would be universal like on pc when it comes to installing different oses, so for example you could install grapheneos on any phone, etc. but sadly it didn't turn out like that, and now oses and custom roms (idk why they are called that) have to be manually ported to every single device seperately.

  • Linux Desktop Market share reaches 3.08%
  • i think its been bouncing around there 3% or so for a while though

  • What's the best Android/iPhone app for Lemmy?
  • Well the app is currently in the earlier phases of development but i think more people should know that there is currently an attempt at porting slide for reddit to lemmy. here is the releases from the repository https://github.com/bqv/slide/releases, but its very early in development

  • YSK: There is an old.reddit interface for lemmy on a site called https://mlmym.org/ (as well as lemmy.bolha.one)

Why YSK: Because some people may want to use old reddit's interface and might be used to it's look. To choose the instance, put a /[instance name] after that url, or use the option given by the site itself

edit: apparently the original site where this came from is https://mlmym.org/ and this is the github repository https://github.com/rystaf/mlmym

could it be possible for more apps and web interfaces (like wefwef.app) be added to the join-lemmy.org website?

maybe someone could make a merge request in the repository so they could be added to the list, because there are a lot of apps being developed alongside mlem and jerboa, also wefwef.app is an interesting looking webapp for lemmy as an alternate interface? would it count as that? apparently it's supposed to look like apollo

has anyone tried out lemmynade as a lemmy app?
    github.com Release v0.9.6 · liftoff-app/liftoff

Fixed issue with adding v0.18.x instances

it seems pretty nice so far, though there isnt ios version right now

edit: it seems like the maintainer renamed it to liftoff, and also the link is to an outdated version

Destiny 1’s gameplay was revealed 10 years ago today (Sony E3 2013)

    https://www.resetera.com/threads/destiny-1%E2%80%99s-gameplay-was-revealed-10-years-ago-today-sony-e3-2013.728616/

This is copied off of the thread from resetera but i think its something notable that I think more people should know about.
