You know, based on your username I think you might be just a little bit biased

Honestly I sometimes wish the trigger finger was itchier. I think this should have happened back when hexbear was also defederated, but at least it's finally done with.

I've been using Connect (!lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca) and, while it's not the same, it feels fairly similar to RIF (which I used to use) after some customization.

These things are the standard for apps nowadays; it's Connect and other Lemmy apps that are the outliers. I don't blame that dev for wanting some return on their work, but I am happy that we have so much choice in Lemmy apps that I can choose to use something else instead.

That's why it's important to assess the tone the DM is using when they say that.

Do they sound defeated? You're probably about to derail away from something planned to something that will have to be fully improvised on the spot, reconsider for sanity's sake

Do they sound excited? You're probably about to trigger a really cool trap, full steam ahead

Because it's not Reddit, and is active enough.

In terms of content Lemmy is definitely inferior to Reddit. So it is, it's not very old and not very large compared to Reddit. But because of Reddit's decisions, I'm here instead of there.

Too late, I already own all the Stellaris DLC, my bad choices have been made long ago

Not sure yet! I've not bought a lot of games recently, but I do enjoy large swathes of the strategy genre. Stellaris, Civ 5 and 6, Terra Invicta, Frostpunk, etc.

Oh I can imagine. Expect some pushback no matter which way that vote goes, people get real vocal about political content, especially US and double especially Trump related.

The absolute easiest way without having to use an external site would probably be to post 1 comment per option you want voted on, lock the post, and ask people to upvote the option they want. This also lets people vote for multiple options at once, for better or worse.

If you want to use an external site consider Strawpoll. Very quick and easy to set up.
