Most (but not all) music has something to recommend it. If you don’t like entire eras of music it’s not because the music is “bad,” it’s because it’s not to your taste anymore (or, for stuff you didn’t listen to, never was).
Much like with food, if you can find what makes a particular genre enjoyable and listen for that, you can enjoy a lot more. I would never listen to Taylor Swift the same way I listen to Rush or Pink Floyd, but I still loved Midnights. I wouldn’t listen to Bach the same way I listen to Nightwish, but they’re both fantastic.
There’s nothing wrong with being discerning in your tastes. But there’s also nothing wrong with the styles of music you don’t like, it’s just a different flavor. I don’t like cilantro and never will, but I understand why people do. And I didn’t like coffee until I learned how to taste it properly. The same is true of music.
I guess I'm searching for another Zelda:BotW. Which isn't Tears of the Kingdom.
I’m confused by this. TotK is very much just BotW but with more. The construction mechanism is really fun, the three overlapping maps are cool, it’s a good time. You get to see how the world of BotW has changed in the intervening time, and being able to make hover cycles to fly around the world is awesome.
The landing gear was up because the crew left it up. This may have been on purpose to reduce drag (the flaps were also not extended). This can be done when the plane has lost both engines and needs to glide.
Landing gear have many failsafes, the last of which is to literally let them just drop by gravity. If the landing gear were the malfunction, the plane would’ve spent more time circling.
8:58 they declare mayday because of no landing gear and two minutes later they’re attempting the riskiest landing of their lives? I bet „no landing gear” checklist is a bit longer than two minutes.
You’re right, if the mayday were due to the landing gear not being down they wouldn’t have attempted to land so quickly. There are many things they would try first, and the final failsafe simply drops the landing gear with gravity. If the gear were up, it’s because the crew left the gear up.
The mayday wasn’t about the landing gear.
The mayday was due to a bird strike. They initiated a go-around after the bird strike, and they may have also lost the second engine during the go-around. Perhaps a second bird strike. This would explain the lack of flaps and landing gear: the crew may have been trying to minimize drag to reach the runway without power. Unfortunately they ran out of runway after floating too long due to ground effect and traveling far too quickly.
The incident would likely have been survivable at many airports. That berm with the localizer antena on it is a terrible safety hazard that shouldn’t exist at a major airport.
If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It’s not 100% accurate but it’s close enough and it’s remarkably good television, one of the best series of all time IMO. It’s readily available on any number of the seven seas, and also streaming from HBO I think.
I love my WASD. I think you pay a bit more for the customization, but I love that aspect. I made mine in orange and blue with the McLaren logo for the meta keys, and the Formula 1 logo for the F1 key. It makes me smile.
This isn't an unpaid debt, it's an illegal campaign contribution by city officials at their taxpayer's expense.
The city can’t tell the Van Andel Arena they aren’t allowed to let Trump come in. And I’m sure they’re essentially obligated to provide a police presence and whatever else they’re charging his campaign for.
The city of Grand Rapids is pretty blue, and its government isn’t conservative. Huge swaths of West Michigan are conservative, and sure there are far more churches in GR than in most cities (it’s the central location for a few flavors of Reformed churches), but still. The city government aren’t exactly Trump supporters.
It is not the city residents being dumb, it is the city government being corrupt.
Grand Rapids isn’t a conservative city government. A lot of the surrounding area is, but GR itself isn’t. We just have the biggest arena around, so all the MAGAts come from all over West Michigan.
The city can’t stop him from campaigning here, they can’t go to the Van Andel arena and say, “No, you aren’t allowed to let Trump in.” They can just charge his campaign for any services provided, and then get shafted when he doesn’t pay.
You’re not the first fellow TheReal
