  • I bet these LLM models wont be 100% locally hosted. I imagine some form of data will be piped back to a cloud server

  • It does look like a boxer

  • I guess gray is just black and white mixed, and black does not do very well

Yellow also reflects a tonne of UV and IR light. Probably helps make it so much more visible to everything than other colors

  • While Western countries have frozen $300 billion in Russian assets, they can only access the income generated by these funds, approximately $3.2 billion, annually.

By setting up a fund with loans to be repaid using this income, countries can offer immediate support to Ukraine beyond this amount.

I wonder why they cant liquidate a percentage of any of the currently held assets? I guess most are intangible? Or some other international law preventing direct asset control

  • Good! Shitty names based in racist origins anyway

In a contentious board meeting, opponents of the move — including some current students — noted that the 1959 decision to name the schools after Confederate generals came at a time when Virginia's leaders were fighting to keep the state's schools racially segregated.

  • As for solar panels I think the word you're looking for is "albedo"

Off the top of my head I think it's close to earth's natural albedo anyway. Or even if it is a lower number and more energy/heat is absorbed it's so negligible. Only the tiniest fraction of the earth's surface would be/are covered in panels

  • Well you're correct but some brands actually QC (quality control) their products and others do not. This filters out a lot of issues, just having a real human look everything over

Just off the top of my head I know Apple recently changed a manufacturing facility and they were NOT happy with the quality produced. 50% straight into garbage https://9to5mac.com/2023/02/14/iphone-casings-produced-in-india/

  • We need a special SU-57 column at this point

  • In January 2018, Lochridge sent Rush a quality-control inspection report detailing 27 issues with the vehicle, from questionable O-ring seals on the domes and missing bolts to flammable materials and more concerns about its carbon-fiber hull. Rush fired him the next day. (Although Lochridge later made a whistleblower report to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration about Titan, Rush sued him for breach of contract. The settlement of that lawsuit resulted in Lochridge dropping his complaint, paying OceanGate nearly $10,000, and signing an NDA. Lochridge did not respond to WIRED.)

    Ugh

  • I really like "tater tot casserole"

  • Title is probably surprisingly accurate

  • A lawsuit before the Maryland Supreme Court seeks to stop the sale of a parking lot in Bethesda that currently covers the remains of a historically Black cemetery to developers.

"All these graves, all these souls, they were somebody one time,” Gagnard told the Alexandria Town Talk — a part of the USA TODAY Network. “And they still matter. So we just do our part."

Goddamn. Turned it into a parking lot..... some people suck
