Having the USA's money and weapons is not the same as being the USA. The IDF doesn't get to safely slink home across an entire ocean when they lose, when they make their bed they have to lay in it.

Not even remotely surprised.

America will burn and it'll be its own fault.

Syrians aren't just some helpless background characters who are there to get oppressed and slaughtered, they're going to make the IDF bleed and waste resources on their stupid Greater Israel plan every day they stay there. It's going to be a miserable few years for everyone involved, as usual.

Do you think these guys understand they only have at most a generation before they're overthrown?

How long is Israel going to be the big cheese in the region? I can't imagine a country fighting wars of aggression in five fronts at once is going to be very healthy in the long term.

When the IDF thanks ISIS for softening up Syria by killing the ISIS agents too, I won't take any pleasure from it- "two wrongs don't make a right" and all that. I'll still call them fucking stupid for thinking they can make deals with the devil without getting burned.

Okay, but like, HOW? Syria is poor but they do have a real-ass army. Or DID apparently.

It's going to be another Afghanistan; years where the country has no way to meaningfully oust the occupying force, but will make said occupiers suffer as much as humanly possible the entire time.

I will not ask Syrians to keep fighting long past their ability to fight- they're brave just for standing up to the IDF at all. And yet, I hope they make Israel pay in blood for every centimeter of territory they try to occupy. Hopefully they've been digging some tunnels over the past year.

Of course we aren't affecting the outcome of the war here! Of COURSE Syria is still doomed to years of slightly reskinned ISIS rule, AGAIN! I simply don't like the implication that this means Israel is suddenly going to bounce back from failing to do anything but throw tantrums and murder indiscriminately for over a year and somehow instantly claim all of that territory as "Greater Israel". The armor, missiles and men they've lost already will take years to restock if they can at all. Even the USA is running out of shit to give them!

What would stop this? Don't say "nothing", and don't say "this country would do it but they won't because X".

I refuse to believe Israel will just win again and again forever. I don't care how delusional that makes me, I don't care if I'm wrong, I'm sick of colonial powers getting to do whatever they want forever and ever. This one loss isn't the end of the resistance, and it ain't forever.

Why does it feel like half of y'all are giving up just because ISIS is doing what it's always done?
