  • According to commenters on reddit who listened to the ATC recordings: ATC asked the blackhawk to confirm visual of the passenger aircraft. When the blackhawk confirmed ATC told them to wait and then manoeuvre behind the passenger aircraft.

The military aircraft was therefore responsible for maintaining a visual separation which clearly they failed to do. Possibly they were looking at the wrong aircraft. Therefore it seems likely ATC wasn't responsible.

Obvs this all based on idiots on reddit claiming to have expertise so trust it as much as you would ChatGPT.

  • Thanks, I did get both setup with Docker, my frustration was neither ollama or open-webui included instructions on how to setup both together.

In my opinion setup instructions should guide you to a usable setup. It's a missed opportunity not to include a docker-compose.yml connecting the two. Is anyone really using ollama without a UI?

  • Thanks

Any recommendations for communities to learn more?

Frustratingly Their setup guide is terrible. Eventually managed to get it running. Downloaded a model and only after it download did it inform me I didn't have enough RAM to run it. Something it could have known before the slow download process. Then discovered my GPU isn't supported. And running it on a CPU is painfully slow. I'm using an AMD 6700 XT and the minimum listed is 6800 https://github.com/ollama/ollama/blob/main/docs/gpu.md#amd-radeon

  • Praising the pick wasn't so bad. The issues really arose when he was called out on it and chose to use Proton's official accounts to affirm his view and went on to state:

    • the republican party is now the party of the people and most likely to crack down on big tech
    • The democrats have effectively betrayed their voters in favour of corporate donations
    • This was Proton's official stance

It was insane boot licking and incredibly poorly thought through. It's fine for him to have an opinion but completely inappropriate to use their official accounts to spew such drivel and to state it was the official stance should have resulted in him being fired for damaging their reputation.

edit: I was asked to provide sources so please find them here: https://feddit.uk/post/23386970/14888441

  • Personally I think nobody gives a fuck about your profile while you're alive so why does it suddenly have significance when you're dead.

Grief is a horrible process that we all go through. Cultural norms are to simply ignore it, suppress it and pretend we've moved on.

The digital age preserves a far greater record of our lives than ever before. I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.

  • WHSmith was the first business to adopt enshittification as a business model.

Back when a 500 ml drink was typically £1 or £1.20 in most stores they'd be marked up to £2 in WHSmith and you'd be conned into thinking buying 2 for £3 was a good deal.

Then the sales desk would be littered with giant bars of shitty chocolate that the cashier had to suggest you buy.

Such a shitty store. Wish it had failed a long time ago.

  • Steam doesn't fit OP's criteria. They definitely prioritise profit over the user's preference.

When you open the app you're immediately shown pop-up ads ffs. And the app opens to the store.

You can disable the pop-ups in settings and default to opening your library by default but it's difficult to locate the relevant settings.

Steam transformed the PC gaming experience for the better but I find people's reverence of it is misplaced.

  • The confusion is because user friendly has a clear definition but you're using it to mean something else.

You could consider editing to say user-centric, user-first, user-focused. Or re-wording to specifically state prioritising the user over profit

  • I'm far enough that I think it's inappropriate to have issued it to my area.

It's a very invasive system. The phone screams at you with a siren noise for 10 seconds even on silent. And very boldly declared itself a RED warning.

If they are expanding it to account for travel distances I think they should have more accurate wording.

I'm happy to have these alerts enabled if they're used appropriately but if they start to make a habit of it I'll end up disabling them.

  • Minimum requirements: 150 MB storage and 1GB RAM. I'm not sure why I'm so surprised that a game can be so lightweight and yet popular. It really puts the rest of the shiny graphics games industry to shame

  • I don't think you even need to configure the email.

If I recall correctly emails are optional for Let's Encrypt but Caddy are partnered with ZeroSSL who do require emails so you're encouraged to provide one.
