  • Can confirm. With a dog who sheds enough hair to build a statue of himself every week, a robot vacuum has been a great help. Just make sure to get one with a self-emptying bin, or your gonna be emptying it yourself after every lap around the house, and it'll be more tedious than just vacuuming yourself.

  • Where possible, I add as many factors as I can to the 2fa process, so when I'm logging into something, I can choose between either a notification to my phone, TOTP which I have stored on multiple devices, or a physical security key.

If I lose any of them, it doesn't prevent me from accessing my accounts, nor will I have to worry about anything being compromised as whoever finds my phone, or my USB key would also have to know both that it belongs to me, and what my passwords are... Which unless I'm being specifically targeted, is highly unlikely.

  • I do like Organic maps, but it doesn't have live bus timings and multi-bus route calculation like google does, so I still occasionally have to use that instead.

Fortunately I'm on GOS, and can atleast restrict gmaps from seeing my GPS location, but they're still able to guess where I am and where im going and build data points to sell or hand over to cops based on which bus routes I look at.

  • Although, from an ecological point of view, asteroid mining and orbital manufacturing plants would be a good way of offloading the environmental costs of a post-scarcity society.

But nothing beats a matter replicator.
