  • This is like the 3rd piece of PowerPuff Girl art I have seen in the last hour. Did I miss some kind of announcement? Or is a ppg trend just starting.

    Also sweet take on him.

  • Just an fyi Webster definition of evangelism: the winning or reawakening of personal commitments to Jesus. The google definition: the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness.

You might not have meant it like that, but I assume most people will take it at face value of those definitions.

  • Check out Pop goes X. There's a bunch of different ones, punk, rock, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a metal or some varient already. It's an album of bands from X category doing covers of pop songs.

  • Not OP but the issue isn't creating the space, but creating content in that space. Growing a community is a lot of work. Unless you already have some strong engagement and or a few people creating content it's really just up to you to keep making post until the community gets more traction. Most people like the idea of starting the new community but not the work it requires as it often just feels like yelling into the void.

  • My orginal pokemon blue save file and the 151 (152 if you count missing no) from my childhood. They are all just chilling and hoping that maybe one day I'll come back and play with them like the good old days when we were masters.

  • What kind of phone do you have/ what do you use to keep your phone private. I'm asking genuinely. I've always been a strong advocate of privacy but felt like i was alone and fighting an uphill battle until recently finding this sub. So I'm still very noobish with a lot of it.

  • Dang I think this is really cool. Never really thought about what it looks like under a wave. Have always been jealous of the awesome view surfers get as the surf through the tube of a breaking wave.

  • Doom scrolling wasn't there in the early days of reddit. Lemmy is still new. I think people just had high hopes and expectations that lemmy would be a 1 to 1 replacement for reddit, but that was never going to happen. Reddit has had years to grow and optimize while lemmy is just a fledgling with a niche user base.

Also I think lemmy is missing that hook or gimmick to get, for lack of better words, the attention seekers here that will make posts and content just for upvotes or to show up on everyone's front page. Not saying lemmy needs to be reddit, but I do think it needs a little extra something than just being a decentralized reddit alternative.
