What's the most useless skill you've mastered, and how did you end up getting so good at it?
  • “I am better at helping others flesh out ideas and expanding on them than I am making up my own ideas.”

I think this makes you a “force multiplier”.

“a force multiplier is a factor or a combination of factors that gives folks the ability to accomplish greater feats than without it.”

  • Building safe, green cities be like
  • This is happening in my small town. Adding separate bike lanes and side walks with green space. They got rid of the left hand turn lane and reduced the speed limits by as much as 15mph on some roads.

I can’t wait until the bike lanes are done and I can ride my bike from home to store and back without having ride 1foot on the road with cars.

  • Can someone give me advice on vacuum cleaners?
  • I purchased my Dyson in 2002 or 2003, I don’t remember the model. But we bought it cause it was on sale, and at the time had the best reviews. It turned out to be the best vacuum, it’s was so good my SIL and FIL went out and bought the same model. I love it and am dreading trying to find a replacement when it dies.

It’s disappointing to hear their vacuums are not the same quality they used to be. Mine was so good!

Unfortunately , The plastic body on mine is starting get brittle. However, the motor, cord and tubing are all holding up great.

  • X says it’s closing operations in Brazil
  • I hate to say it, but we need to fire musk and bring back Twitter.

Billionaires, and those in power, know that if they control information and the narrative, that that can tell the general population what ever they want.

Twitter maybe a terrible app, but you used to be able to share really important info, really quickly. There were tweets happening in active war zones, getting actual information out to the population. Compare that to now, when Elon controls everything, include official accounts reporting on Ukraine.

    Information's is power.

  • Teacher pay needs to nearly double to afford a typical house
  • I agree with you, but The teacher pay depends on the state you live and your experience. I know this will blow your mind, but blue state tend to pay their teachers better than red states. Shocking, right?

The average teacher pay in California is 95k. If you live in a small town in California, you’re probably fairly well off. But if you live in la, you’re probably broke.

he teacher salary in Florida is about 53k. Nobody is doing great on 53 k.

  • A clip-on motor turned my bicycle into an e-bike
  • lol. I was also thinking the bike looks like a unicorn.

I remember reading about a rear mounted friction drive previously. No clue about the quality. i m pretty sure I’ve seen others, but this was the first one I found while searching.

  • Chat is this real
  • If there is an arbitration agreement can’t I just destroy the park and they can’t sue me?

I mean if they kill my wife I might as well treat the ceo in kind, they agreed to the arbitration agreement too.

  • The nation’s best hackers found vulnerabilities in voting machines — but no time to fix them
  • Just a slight Correction to the title.

The nations best *ethical hackers found these issues.

No doubt these guys are amazing, but they only represent the good guys, or the folks trying to fix this. The bad guys didn’t report any of their findings at defcon.

It’s kinda like calling the World Series the World Series when only a couple of nations compete.

  • Which part of a PB&J is the meat, and which is the condiment?
  • The definition of meat is ,

    noun

    1. The edible flesh of animals, especially that of mammals as opposed to that of fish or poultry.

    2. The edible part, as of a piece of fruit or a nut.

    3. The essence, substance, or gist.

      "the meat of the editorial."

If boneless chicken wings can have bones that a meat sandwich can be meatless, right? Of course I’m teasing. I agree with you.
