I don't think it's for people planning on buying the disc drive. But it's a nice way to avoid FOMO for anyone that doesn't want to get locked out of discs forever (without buying a whole new console).
Plus, for people looking to save some money, it could be an opportunistic purchase if they find it for cheap later.
Hasn't every other generation come with a price decrease and a bigger size reduction? This seems like it's really just a new model.
The biggest upgrade is the SSD size. But digital is getting more expensive (but also has the disc drive option). Seems like it's just not enough upside for anyone to get excited over compared to previous generations.
The OP clearly crossed from "acceptable" civilian casualties to actively rooting for civilian casualties. In this case the mods would be justified blocking them.
But I'm also happy to see that overall they're not voted up.
Thanks. Yeah, World News is just News. So I was a bit confused. I assume they were talking about the evacuation post. It looks like the OP is making a lot of inflammatory comments there and in other posts. But most of them aren't voted on and not very visible.
I think the issue might be wanting the mods to weed out some of these types. At one point they're even warmongering a bit. But the rest of the conversation seems overall fine.
Which post? There's the evacuation one on c/news on Beehaw which got a bit heated. It has a couple of bad faith comments by the OP. But even then most of the discussion seems to be good faith, even when they're strongly disagreeing.
I don't see a world news community on Beehaw. Just news and USnews. Do you mind sharing the post or the community+server?
(Also for the record, I use Connect. But I don't know if it makes a difference.)
I think most longer discussions are like that regardless. But most conversations that I have seen have been short and informative. Especially now that people have been able to process a bit.
No, I think the response has been very level headed conversation actually. There's been a lot of focus on Israel simply because of the absolute support they initially got. But I think the discussions have been productive.
Why does it feel like every remake messes with lighting? As if making things brighter means it looks better. Halo CE is another that gets blasted for ruining the anesthetic of the original.
In the US, there are multiple holidays people get together for. Halloween (to a lesser degree), Thanksgiving, Christmas (or Hanukkah), New Years. Extended families will often get together multiple times for these and then not see each other again until the next year. Thanksgiving really kicks off the retail season with black Friday, but there's also a lot of time off during the winter time from school and work.
It really is a season with Christmas at the center of it. A lot of our "Christmas" songs don't even mention Christmas. It's just songs about winter.
At least for the US, the price increase is just for digital version. And honestly, I'm certain the old digital had a profit margin hit in comparison to the disc drive version. It was probably worth it to lock people out of discs. This version will have a disc drive attachment option, so they've just given up on their all-digital endeavor.
Aside from that, $50 for 175 GB SSD isn't a great value. The extra 175GB SSD is a significant increase. And for the disc version, that's purely an upgrade.
Are you talking about the original Demon's Souls? From what I've heard, there are so many QOL improvements they can't really be treated as the same game.
Also, Ratchet and Clank made me happy to have a PS5 (at that time the PC release hadn't been announced).
So do I. Why? Because I can.
