  • The problem is that social media companies have completely capitulated to fascists, with absolutely zero attempt to put up a fight.

Everyone knows, and I mean literally everyone, that if the rules were enforces fairly on social media then something like 60% of conservatives would have to be banned. They regularly say things that are openly racist, sexist, and incite violence on the reg.

But social media companies only care about money, and to make money they want as many people as possible to show up. So while they know these cesspools exist on their platforms where people say the most heinous shit imagineable, they tolerate it because it makes them money and avoids the big fascist rage party if they fairly enforced their rules.

  • And the increase in the price of goods that I've seen around me has been more like 30%, not 10. It's blatant price gouging, but the government refuses to act to stop it.

  • No see he wants the restrictions on the death penalty to be removed so the state can execute people easily

It's because he wants the "undesirables" killed off where he can't see it happening.

  • Because all the sinophobe tech bros have migrated to Lemmy and don't actually understand the shit they're talking about. They think the tech THEY use is super cool and want to keep using it, and also think China is scary and an imminent threat to them sitting in their gamer chair surrounded by doritos.

  • Several in fact. Most famously they bombed Tulsa oklahoma when black people there got too wealthy. But now multiple states are banning the teaching of it, alongside banning the teaching of our genocide of the Native Americans.

We do most of our murder of innocent people these days abroad though which isn't really much better, but most Americans are apparently completely fine with children being murdered so long as they aren't white and they aren't here, or they aren't in an American school being shot by one of their peers.

  • And the racism, don't forget the racism!

  • You're expecting this person to know any of this history of China before 2000

  • Dudes making us wheel of time fans look fucking terrible smh

  • And yet that dude is the one calling people bots

  • That won't stop the far right from turning him into a martyr

  • I have been FIGHTING TOOTH AND NAIL for about a week to get the AIO working in docker on Linux, and I'm getting extremely frustrated with it.

I FINALLY got it to actually function yesterday to where I could attempt to do its internal setup, but now I'm stuck with this page:

I'm genuinely starting to question whether it's worth it at this point, I haven't once been able to actually get it all the way set up and functional.

  • BMW

    Jump
  • Oskar Schindler spent millions and most of his personal wealth to continue operating while saving as many jews as possible.

The leadership at BMW had many options available to them and instead chose to actively support genocide that they knew was happening. They used slave labor from the concentration camps. Leadership at BMW knew full well what was happening.

Yes, it is fully reasonable to expect people exploiting slave labor and actively contributing to a genocide to either do the right thing and do everything in their power to help the people being murdered, like Schindler, while risking their own lived.

  • Yes, it's an excellent introduction.

If you like role play heavy RPGs and like or don't mind turn based combat, it's great. You don't need to be a DND lover to understand the setting or story, they do rather a good job so far giving you enough lore info to understand what's happening.

  • So I ended up reinstalling windows, and that seems to have fixed the problems. Not really sure what was causing it in the end; if they start happening again I'll post something here. Thanks for the help!

  • Yep I have that problem now. All the toilet seats in my house are soft close and I slam public toilet seats whenever I'm out of the house now without thinking

  • Very important that whatever first aid kit you get has a tourniquet, or that you buy one separately.

They are easily the most important life saving device in any first aid kit. 99% of the time you won't need it for normal cuts but when you are dealing an injury that needs one you WILL regret not having one.

  • Yep I've also got a VIOFO, works great.

I thought it would be kinda ugly when I looked at it, but depending on how your car is designed once it's mounted you don't really see it so it's fine. Took a while to figure out how to wire it to the battery though, mostly because I'd never done that before.

  • The only other oddity I have is with my mouse. Sometimes it will do some weird thing, and I think it's the brand and it's drivers not being great. I've ordered a new one that should come today, and when it comes I plan on reinstalling windows. If that doesn't fix this... tbh nothing will.

  • Memory test ran overnight and detected no issues.
