Weekly Warframe: Revenant
  • The small glow-up this frame got after the introduction of Overguard had huge impact on his power level, there is a reason he was the most used frame in 2023. Giving Mesmer Skin that 1sec of invulnerability made him the ultimate scaling frame. Enemy damage? Doesn't matter. Enemy health? Doesn't matter either, Reave through them all! He's the ultimate lazy mode frame, just bring a good gun/melee and you can do literally any mission in the game with ease. I won't be surprised to see him nerfed/changed but I won't be surprised to see him remain untouched either. He's really strong, but not oppressive to other frames. He does kind of invalidates all enemy damage, which could be a problem but we have enough game modes that require you to keep something other than yourself alive that I don't think he's game breakingly OP.

  • Weekly Warframe: Revenant

The eidolon vampire, better mind control frame than Nyx, what Caliban wished he was - Revenant!

    Release date: 2018-08-24

Passive: When Revenant's Shield is fully depleted, he emits a radial pulse over 7.5 meters inflicting 100 Blast damage with maximum 75% Damage Falloff. Enthrall - Convert a target into a zealous thrall. Thralls turn on their allies and enthrall through damage. On death, they disintegrate into a damaging pillar of energy. The thrall horde remains under Revenant’s spell until this Ability runs out. Mesmer Skin - Become enveloped in Sentient energy, which redirects damage and stuns all those who dare attack. Stunned enemies can be Enthralled at no energy cost. Reave - Dash through enemies as a wall of Sentient energy, leeching shields and health from any encountered, enhanced for thralls. Danse Macabre - Erupt with a multitude of Eidolon energy beams and sweep a circle of death around Revenant. The beams will modify their Damage Type to target select defenses, while incoming damage is redirected back into the beams. Hold fire to boost Status Effects and Damage, at the cost of increased energy consumption. Thralls killed by this leave overshield pickups.

Acquisition: Main blueprint is awarded upon completion of the Mask of the Revenant quest, which is unlocked after reaching Rank 2 - Observer with The Quills. Component blueprints are acquired from Plains of Eidolon Bounties.

    Yuru Camp△ SEASON 3 • Laid-Back Camp Season 3 - Episode 7 discussion
  • This episode was pure chaos! The butterfly effect was in full action too, adding the two dogs into the memories messed up the reality pretty badly. Next week - more food! Good thing Nadeshiko packed all those snacks!

  • Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 • KONOSUBA -God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3 - Episode 6 discussion
  • Kazuma has a rather versatile skill set and is actually surprisingly competent when not being dragged down by his lazy sleazy bastard nature. That and he had a good teammate to actually work with rather than dragging along his usual group of mischief makers.

  • Weekly Warframe: Khora
  • She's absolutely worth having around, not just for resource farming but as a general fantastic frame. Her Ensnare works on a lot of things you wouldn't think it would, namely Acolytes and Demolishers. She makes quick work of any Disruption mission with that and her incredible damage potential. Incarnon Melee weapons only made her better, because for some unknown reason their passive buffs work on pseudo-Exalted abilities, give her an Incarnon Ceramic Dagger and she absolutely shreds anything!

  • Weekly Warframe: Khora
  • Khora might be the "best" loot frame but I feel like relegating her to just that is doing her a disservice. With a good statstick she absolutely tears through most content. She does suffer from the Atlas issue of being an incredibly spammy frame, bind her 1 to your mouse wheel to alleviate some palm pain (DE please give us hold-to-chain-cast on all melee-like abilities please).

  • Weekly Warframe: Khora

So I always check the frame's themes before writing this bit and apparently one of hers is arachnid... Not what I would've given her, but it's what we will go with. The chain spider mistress herself - Khora!

    Release date: 2018-04-20

Passive: While Venari is alive, Khora passively gains a 15% movement speed boost. If Venari is killed, she will respawn beside Khora after 45 seconds, or instantly if summoned via the third ability for an energy cost. Whipclaw - Send enemies reeling with a deafening whipcrack. Ensnare - Bind a hapless target in living metal, entangling others who stray too close. Whipclaw will refresh the trap allowing it to capture more enemies. Venari - Command Venari to focus on a target. Hold to cycle between Attack, Protect, and Heal postures. If Venari is killed, use this ability to revive her instantly. Strangledome - Weave a dome of living chain that ensnares and strangles any enemy within, and any foolish enough to approach. Foes outside the trap will try to hasten their comrade's deaths by shooting them. Crack Whipclaw on the dome to further damage any trapped enemies.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints are acquired from standard Sanctuary Onslaught.

    Yuru Camp△ SEASON 3 • Laid-Back Camp Season 3 - Episode 6 discussion
  • As I said last episode, the desire is irresistible! Even Ayano succumbs to it's mighty pull!

And here is an episode discussion screenshot for you @rikka@ani.social! (https://i.imgur.com/ZKlhEer.png)

Nadeshiko became a train enthusiast, she would fit right in here on Lemmy! That death bridge really traumatized our poor bike gang. Good thing they didn't go to the Musou suspension bridge (夢想吊橋), I looked up videos on YouTube of that thing and it doesn't look like a fun time! (well, back when it was still intact that is, no chance of crossing it now.) So ends the Oigawa camping trip, next time it's time to see what the Outdoors Club has been up to!

  • Warframe's continuity is bulging at the seams for new players
  • Between all the story-relevant events that were one time only and are never accessible again and the absolute jumbled up mess of a timeline the game puts you through while progressing, it's nearly impossible to get an actual grasp on the story of Warframe without relying on external sources. Alad V for example, plays a big role in multiple quests but unless you were here years ago to do the events that introduced you to him and explained his relevance, he's just some random Corpus guy who show up out of nowhere, then gets himself infected and is back to normal again? Teshin shows up in multiple quests but unless you somehow ended up queuing up for Conclave (in which case I'm very sorry for you), you have no idea who this guy is and why he is so important. The game really would benefit from having brief questlines actually introducing you to the characters early, a quest that sends you to Teshin for some training, a small quest line that involves Alad V being a bad guy and you dealing with the aftermath and have Lotus or someone else explain his history briefly to you. Same for all the bosses you end up fighting, most of the Grineer bosses are complete mysteries unless you were there when their respective events happened years ago.

  • Ookami to Koushinryou: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF • Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF - Episode 6 discussion
  • We got a title drop! @rikka@ani.social

This whole operation was one risky gambit that almost didn't pay off! Good thing Medio Trading was desperate enough to make this entire venture profitable or poor Lawrence wouldn't even get enough coins to pay off Holo's new clothes and 3 BARRELS of apples! Girl deserves it after everything she went through, especially with Lawrence stopping her from snacking on Yarei.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • Good to know the situation with cross compatibility has improved! I just saw enough posts of people having issues with a shared Windows/Linux NTFS drive over the years to advice against that setup.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • Great, good for you. But what's your point? OP explicitly said they have a specific use case for BTRFS and just wanted to know if there are any specific issues related to gaming with it. arch-chroot being slightly different with that filesystem is not an issue for 99% of EndeavourOS users.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • Yeah but when is that gonna matter? It uses a graphical installer so you won't need to touch the arch-chroot command at all. And if for some reason you do, the Arch wiki is there for you.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • I don't know? It's been a long time since I used Arch, and besides OP is using EndeavourOS so it won't matter.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • Unless you're making hundreds of snapshots with massive changes between each it won't matter. It might matter if you plan to use spinning rust as your main drive, but I imagine you'll be using an SSD.

  • BTRFS for Linux gaming?
  • I use Fedora which defaults to BTRFS and never once had an issue with any game because of it. Your file system shouldn't matter for gaming at all so long as you stay on Linux native ones and avoid NTFS Windows drives.

  • Our Next Chapter On Road To Release | SKYBLIVION Development Diary 5
  • They announced the release date in their previous development diary, assuming no unexpected delays it's planed to come out in 2025. Follow Rebelzize, the project lead, on whatever socials you use if you want more frequent updates. He sometimes streams his work on the project on Twitch as well!

  • Weekly Warframe: Gara
  • You can do that, but it takes a long time and a ton of energy to stack it up to a reasonable level when you could just be Citrine, use Prismatic Gem to proc every status known to man on enemies and explode them with CO melee or a gun with Galvanized status mod. It's faster, covers a wider area, doesn't care about enemy armor if you run 2 Emerald corrosive shards or a Slash weapon and also helps your teammates.

  • Weekly Warframe: Gara
  • Poor Gara was a really damn good hybrid frame, with incredible DR she could share with teammates, CC and AoE nuking potential. Then Citrine released and kind of invalidated her existence. She still has her low level Mass Vitrify + Shattered Lash nuke but everything else, Citrine does better. She's still a fantastic pick for newer players, given her early game availability and rather inexpensive crafting costs.

  • Weekly Warframe: Gara

The Glass Warrior, Sentient Slayer, walking AoE - Gara!

    Release date: 2017-10-12

Passive: When casting an ability, Gara's glass body has 15% chance to Blind enemies within 12 meters for 10 seconds, exposing them to Melee Finisher attacks. Blind chance increases by 20% until the blind triggers. Shattered Lash - Lash out with stream of shattered glass, or hold for an arcing strike. Splinter Storm - Gara's armor splinters into a maelstrom of shattered glass that slices enemies and impairs their weapons. Allies who contact the cloud are fortified against damage. Spectrorage - Trap enemies in a carousel of mirrors, forcing them to attack visions of their true selves. Destroyed mirrors damage their attackers, as does the collapse of the carousel. Mass Vitrify - Create an expanding ring of molten glass that slowly crystallizes enemies who enter. When the expansion is complete, the ring hardens to block weapons fire. The ring draws extra strength from the health and shields of crystallized enemies. Use Shattered Lash to smash the ring and send razor-sharp glass flying outward.

Acquisition: Main blueprint is awarded upon completion of the Saya's Vigil quest. Component blueprints are acquired from Plains of Eidolon Bounties.

Skywind 2024: The Road So Far
  • Worth mentioning, the Skywind team is active on the Fediverse! They have a Lemmy community (!skywind@lemmy.world) and a Mastodon account.

  • Our Next Chapter On Road To Release | SKYBLIVION Development Diary 5
  • I'm very happy to see them re-implement the attribute system with classes and birthsigns while combining it with the Skyrim's perk customization. Taking the best parts of both games! It's also amazing to see the classic lockpicking minigame from Oblivion re-implemented! I always liked that system much more than the spin-the-circle one Bethesda has been using in every game since Skyrim.

  • Yuru Camp△ SEASON 3 • Laid-Back Camp Season 3 - Episode 5 discussion
  • Nadeshiko succumbs to the impossible to resist desire to strike a battle pose whenever handling any weapon-shaped object!

A very cooking-heavy episode! Nadeshiko really got inspired by that dam curry, putting all this thought into her own beef stew version of it. It's great her and Ayano are finally reunited, I hope we get to see this trio go on more camping trips, even if it might not happen this season (can't believe next episode is already the halfway mark!)

Community question: With the release of Dante, it got me thinking about using these weekly threads as a way to discuss newly released frames, not just old ones. Whenever a new frame releases, they would get the next upcoming thread, after which the queue would resume. Thoughts? I was also thinking about possibly re-making a thread if a frame receives a substantial enough rework, so far I got lucky with both Hydroid's and Inaros' reworks being timed perfectly with their queue spots, but that won't always be the case.

    3
