  • IMO, it's fine and good, but it is something you should opt into. If you know what's going on and know to backup your recovery keys, or just make normal backups, then all is well. But if you are unprepared it's fairly easy for you to end up locked out of your data in a lot of scenarios where it would have been recoverable without bitlocker turned on.

  • Those are old solo Biden memes, not the Obama/Biden buddy shenanigan memes being discussed.

  • Okay, I think we need to recalibrate ourselves a little bit. I mean even if this potato quality picture was real, it would obviously have been put up by people opposing him, and there's nothing really surprising or shocking about something like that.

  • The meme is real, but that doesn't mean that Mozilla is suddenly bankrupt. I can't speak to Mozilla specifically, but there are non-profits like Wikipedia that set up stores of money equal to at least a full year of operating expenses, so that they can work to pivot in the face of exactly this kind of eventuality.

  • So if it was written by a PoC you would build your whole personality around hating it?

  • Or, according to Dune author Frank Herbert, from watching a man climb a mountain. (See Heretics of Dune)

  • Based on the graphics, it seems to be from his own stream. I assume that the "excuse" at least, is that it was meant to be some kind of weird joke that falls flat out of context, probably falls flat in context too to be fair, because it's pretty weird.

  • Do you mean that as a relative 10%? Because this chart maxes out at 5%.

  • First and foremost, I think this just fundamentally wouldn't work out because it requires enough people being on a given thread at the same time, which would be on the rare side for most threads, then on top of that they also need to be in a position to talk freely, ie - Not on the toilet, not in their open floorplan cube at work. The two place most commenting happens.

More subjectively, IMO, the times this would work out and be civil and a good conversation, would be far outweighed by the ones where it went south.

  • If you look into the history of the court, most of the Supreme Courts power today is something it's just been "allowed" to claim and has been institutionalized over time. Knocking them down a peg is doable on paper, it would just be crazy contentious since the GOP likes the current status quo.

  • Yeah, neat idea, but if "hacking" isn't already something of a hobby, it's going to just sit around. As mine has.

  • "The popularity of Skibidi Toilet has made it a worldwide phenomenon, with a live-action movie apparently in the works."

    ... 😑

  • Annoyingly that "we'll have so much love" addition, combined with the weird claim that Christians don't vote much, actually does make me more willing to think he means that he'll have done such a good job and the GOP will be so beloved, that the "small" % of Christian voters won't be necessary for wins anymore, so they won't need to worry about voting, it will still be a shoe-in without them.
