I got it for free a while back and played thru the campaign and it absolutely kicked my ass, mostly due to my insistance on trying to rely on infantry more than vehicles lol. The final mission especially wants you to pile on with the tanks.

Frankly, China. A defeated, balkanized Russia cut up into smaller liberal democracies which can be manipulated by the western hegemony results in a China surrounded on all sides by hostile forces aligned with the west. As far as the modern Russian state is concerned, uh, fuckem, Putin sucks, but I still would rather they remained whole and friendly with China, the actual Communist project I have some alignment with, than split up into anti-China NATO puppets.

Mark = a potential wrestling fan, typically someone willing and able to suspend your disbelief so you can enjoy the show. Sometimes a mark can be a 'Smark' or 'Smart Mark' which means they don't really bother with the suspension and just lean into the spectacle.

Shoot = a wrestling storyline, since wrestling is basically a soap opera, and the wrestlers are actors

Worked into a shoot = someone who has bought the storyline so strongly that they end up playing into the storyline with your own actual emotions

So, what he's saying is basically "don't get so caught up in what they tell you that you end up fervently believing it's true yourself" and that's just beautiful

I honestly don't know what they were thinking, because I am right with you. The first game was just that, a real tight video game whereas the sequel was trying too hard to be some kinda simulation and stumbled over the line of sim/fun into boring.
