  • I'd start with Internet. Actual Internet infrastructure, buy an actual independent party that's not reliant on Robellus.

Banking thats not directly reliant on the big 3.

I understand, and appreciate the point and intent on the CRTC and the Canadian financial system protections. But the consumers get fucked as a result of them as well. At some point, the gates have to get opened here, somehow.

Banks used to pay us interest. Now they soak us in fees, reporting billions in quarterly profits, under government protection (and let's not kid ourselves, they are the government). Ditto for the communications system.

  • The Horizons are just literally too much, they are overwhelming. Yet at the same time, they start to feel repetitive, like there will be a few good speed challenges or a handful of races that are enjoyable. Other than that, there's so much, yet it feels so dead.

Forza Motorsports, the latest iteration was straight up trash. The online multiplayer has been wrecked by people that just outright cheat, like it's so bad it's blatantly obvious. You have no way of winning if you aren't cheating, and most likely will end up in a pileup somewhere in the back because no one can drive. The story mode has been wrecked by a progression system that just literally makes no sense. It's arguably a fairly attractive game to look at, but totally empty inside.

  • This last iteration of Forza was awful. If that's how it was going to be for this franchise going forward, good riddance. I'm sorry for the human impact this has though, that parts not lost on me. But the product was complete shit. Leaves a cavern sized hole in the market now. Forza has had a monster sized impact on the genre. That cannot be ignored.

  • My answer would be no. I did that one time, to an entry level full suspension bike. Absolutely ate crow when it came time to sell, at the end of it all I was out a pile of money and the bike was still pretty mediocre. Save your money for a more complete package. This bike will still do you just fine for quite a while yet I imagine too.

  • The bottom paragraph especially. It's a terrible idea honestly. It's better to learn how the bike should run, and what to watch for, before you need to actually watch for it and wrestle with it.

  • This is kind of screaming Honda CRF300LS. Low seat, it's super easy to ride, great learners bike. Throw a set of wrap around handguards on there when you buy it, and you can drop it all day without really much consequence. They aren't all that expensive, and pretty low maintenance. Dual sports make great learning bikes too, they are super approachable, let you make all the mistakes with lower consequences, and you can literally take that bike just about anywhere. It'll do 55mph no prob, I'm pretty sure you can get those things going 70-80mph. They ain't built for highway comfort, but they make a great around town bike. You can even get a little rack for the back.

Take a course, it's invaluable, especially when you are learning. Otherwise you'll spend the first year struggling.

  • So is AMD with their availability of literally three video cards in stock for all of North America at launch. Which in turn just fuels the scalpers. Downvote this all you want guys, AMD is just as complicit in all of this, they've fuelled this bullshit just as much.
