Edit: (to add some actual discussion) it's honestly really nice since Ubers are getting expensive and no one will drink and drive. Sure it's not the same as hanging out in person but it's the next best thing.

Unfortunately, the art community is still big. No other platform has as much engagement with small time artists. I use it just for that. Sometimes Ill get curious and see political tweets. They're almost always filled to the brim with comments spouting: hate, disinformation or deflection. You'll see sane comments but the algorithm buries them. I'm sure most are bots but the nazi-ism is definitely boosted.

I've made accounts on bsky, pixelfed and cara and post there also. Unfortunately the masses haven't moved to those yet so commissions and posts are sparse.

I remember threads about people being born in 88 having an issue with their usernames getting banned from various platforms. Not Musk though. Probably gives free check marks to anyone with it in their username.

Ranked choice voting would help big time. But neither party will ever allow it.

I have the experience. Close friends consumed by the alt-rightosphere. These are (arguable were) caring people who'd stop and help strangers stranded on side of the road. People I considered like minded. But now it's "Democrats are pedophiles, Clinton flew with Epstein and here's how the election was stolen" (the irony is not lost on me).

Trying to discuss this constructively just doesn't work. It always ends with 😡👉"Your information is wrong and you're being brainwashed"👈😔 you can show them all of the stuff but their eyes glaze over and they're just thinking about how to find an article that either: Spins how the negative thing is actually good or just outright false.

They don't care. That soft power means nothing when Putin is pumping thousands, if not millions, into their pockets. They're looting this country. This is just also aligns with Putin plans to cripple the US.

Untinfoils most likely she knows they're hated and doesn't want to face the unwantedness/hostility/embarassment of going where she's unwanted.

I think it's just the propaganda machine being efficient. All the major social media platforms are owned by billionaires (except blue sky but not sure there's nearly as many users compared to twit/meta/reddit) and they're manipulated to push the interests of the elites.
