  • I think that's part of the feeling of injustice and betrayal. Europeans put up with all US shit for decades because hey, they're imperialist that only act in their own interest but at least they're somewhat tactful about it. They made the entire world revolve around them, but at least they pretended we were on the same side so we didn't protest too loudly.

And now they're suddenly acting like they're the fucking victim of this system they created themselves to benefit them? That basically broke the illusion the West reluctantly chose to believe in, and all that remains is the bad and the ugly

  • I wonder what's the point of these hyperbolic articles everytime Trump gets slightly rebuked by someone. Best case scenario we all get a giggle out of it and move on, worst case scenario the world's oldest baby throws a tantrum and starts a war with France over his bruised ego

  • Not an American, but I can totally relate with that. Some politicians in my country have taken a page from Trump's playbook since 2016 and have started telling blatant lies on TV, the kind that are supposed to be easily refuted by any one with half a brain, and not getting any serious pushback. It took me a long time to get past the "Wait, they can't do that, that's not how it works!" phase

  • Meh, "proper cuisine" is definitely accurate since it's our national pride, but most of the others don't really feel like french stereotypes. "Soggy pastry" for Denmark even sounds suspiciously american, I've never heard anyone say that about this country in France and I don't even know what it's referring to

  • As far as I remember they weren't monetizing NSFW subs, so I guess their reasoning is that banning them reduces server costs while not impacting their ads revenue.

Now what will be interesting is to see how much of Reddit's userbase was there at least partly for the porn, and how many users will leave Reddit altogether because of this move

  • Imagine, as a senior federal employee, seeing a 25 yo nerd barging into your office uninvited and asking you questions without revealing as much as their name. US feds really must be paragons of politeness and patience for not telling them to fuck off right away
