  • You mean the thing that allows the president to remove people from the US according to famed puppy killer Kristi Noem?

That's what he's trying to enforce you silly goat! Those filthy protestors are trying to stop ICE from doing just that. /s

Bet these ghouls are just salivating at the potential justification to invoke the insurrection act.

  • I had to think way too long about what you said there to finally get it. Sometimes I'm way too ace for the internet I swear. I sat here for several minutes like "What the heck do they mean? They're just looking for a specific pattern in the phone's gyro sensors and accelerometer. Why would that be interesting?"

It threw me a little. And I even thought it might have been a dirty joke but I couldn't find it because in my mind if you're using your phone for that you're trying to keep it as steady as possible. Gods I'm dumb.

  • If you didn't set those up yourself it might be a model thing to have those by default. On my Moto G 5G the power button thing isn't bound by default. Though the volume button media thing is set for when the screen is off. There's a section in the settings for gestures with all of them.

Options for my model at least have a couple cool "kinetic gestures" as they call them. If you hold the phone in one hand and make 2 quick chopping motions it'll turn on the flashlight, if you instead twist your wrist back and forth twice quickly that'll open up the camera. Both work even if the phone is locked.

Might have to look into that island app though.

  • Walz seems to correctly understand that most of the everyday people who oppose allowing trans athletes to compete are having a gut reaction and aren't against trans people. They simply "know" that boys are generally stronger than girls, so even if they believe trans women are women, they still believe that they'd have an unfair advantage competing with cis women.

This means they can be moved away from that erroneous position. Most of these people have no idea that there are already protocols for this to make sure there's no unfair advantage. They don't know that after what was it? 2 years on HRT that something like 99% of any advantage a trans woman may have had from going through a male puberty is gone. Most of these people have never even heard of a trans woman competing in women's sports. There are what? Something like under a hundred in the entire US?

The first most people probably heard about the entire concept was hearing that Lia Thomas "beat" a cis woman. But not that they were actually tied for fucking fifth place. I know most people that were outraged about it that I've told that were shocked. Straight up went from "this is so unfair, they shouldn't have let her compete," to "they're this mad that she got FIFTH?"

  • Yeah the joke is meant to be lampooning that rightoid tendency to get pissy when brands support queer people. The rightoid would be mad that Overwatch was involved in Pride and drop Overwatch. OP inverted it, dropping Pride because they associate with Overwatch.

  • You mean Timothy Daniel Pool? The same Timothy Daniel Pool that constantly wears a beanie even if it's wildly inappropriate to be doing so for wherever he is because he's insecure about his hair loss and viciously attacks anyone who even remotely insinuates that this is what's happening? That guy? Yeah pretty sure.

  • Yeah I can kinda force it to look upside down if I try to like unfocus but they appeared face up from the get go for me except maybe the top middle one?

Edit: interestingly when I saw the smaller preview image upon sending this to my partner then I could see it upside down.

  • Yep. Even in the "best case" scenario where none of the "talent" at Tenet was being directly told what to say, the disinfo people being like "Hey big dog, love what you're doing. Here's an ungodly amount of money to keep doing it," isn't functionally any different. It only means they potentially didn't directly commit the crime of being an unregistered foreign agent or whatever the wording is.

They just found somebody prominent that was already saying most of what they wanted to pay someone directly to say and basically got them for a discount because they didn't need to convince them to say it.

  • He's an alt-right pundit that tries to pretend he isn't right wing. But who only ever seems to have mild disagreements with right wing figures while he attacks the left. His Wikipedia article has a "Views" section that does a pretty good job illustrating why he is... Not great let's say.

  • Yeah there wasn't a good reason to make Einhorn trans. I don't think they intended it as a broad commentary on trans people generally and that it was just supposed to be "this guy was so messed up after that botched kick that this is how far he went to get revenge." But it doesn't really matter what they intended if the result was just having their villain be an unhinged trans woman.

That's not even to say you can't have the villain be a trans woman either. They could easily just have had the broken Ray Finkle get therapy, realize that he was actually she and rebuild her life, then finally as she's got her life back and she was finally happy again who happens to show up and ruin everything yet again? Dan fucking Marino. Basically the entire fucking movie could have happened the same way. She could even still have killed Podacter for finding out about "her past" as they more crudely put it, but you'd probably want to make it where he was going to blackmail her or something. Idk.

  • My wife who often looks like a butch lesbian stereotype loves starting out with new people referring to me as "my partner" then switching it up and talking about her husband and kids. I find it hilarious and apparently the looks on their faces as their brains short circuit are amazing.

  • Here's an article I was able to find about it. Not sure if this is the same source but it at least seems to be some parallel reporting on it.

Edit: This one appears to be the article in the screenshot post I think.

  • Less assuming it is one or the other than guessing which one seems more likely of the two. Probably I'm hoping that it's just the pee tape because it's the most funny option I've seen laid out. That all of this stems from an act that in and of itself registers at "okay, that's kind of weird" but isn't like omg your life is over y'know?

  • Wouldn't have to necessarily be that much depending on when school cutoff was for her. Like I didn't skip any grades at all and I turned 17 during my senior year just because of when my birthday falls in the year. I was born just before the cutoff and was allowed to start kindergarten at 4. So it really wouldn't take much as all for someone in a similar boat to what I was to graduate at 16.

To answer your other question, there are a ton of people who think that literally the only reason someone male presenting would talk to a woman is to try to have sex with them.

  • I still kinda want it to be the "pee tape" everyone was speculating about last time around. Because that's the funniest possible piece of kompromat I can think of that Putin could have on ole Donnie Boy. Realistically though considering his longstanding friendship with Epstein...

  • Yes, T9 as opposed to just texting with the 9 keys on the number pad tried to guess what you were typing so you only had to press a number once rather than the multiple times you would have had to use with regular texting. So assuming she put Adorra in the dictionary then it would be one of the options that appeared if you pressed 236776

Source: I'm old enough to have texted a girlfriend extensively with a T9 phone.
