If it doesn't reduce harm. It's not harm reduction. Prevention perhaps. But reduction has a different meaning. Reduction means not only stopping new harm. But reducing existing as well. Something that even if we are being extremely generous to Democrats is something they struggle to even attempt to do.
Don't get me wrong I'm 100% on board for the general message of the meme. Placing Perfection over achievable will get you the worst outcome every time. However voting itself can never be harm reduction. No matter how often you do it. That's going to require community action, making these elected officials feel accountable and responsible for their actions.
Unfortunately voting for Democrats isn't harm reduction. It's just a vote against harm acceleration. Which has a value don't get me wrong. But it's not the same thing. The only way we'll ever see harm reduction. Is if we primary every candidate from every party. Actually making them compete and not just continuing to legislate based on momentum. As well as voting in every tiny local election. Focusing on them and empowering your local politicians and party. To take away from the national party's power.
All culture and ideas are ultimately derived from other culture and ideas. I'm pretty sure I'd seen ketamine kid before. Maybe the Don Taco part is new enough and mildly original. Though it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that it pisses those two and their fans off.
A fallout between Don Taco and the Ketamine Kid would be beneficial to the public. I'll believe it when I actually see it. Until they stop doing this empty posturing I'm not going to believe it.
While they absolutely at least should be seen trying. Unfortunately this criminal administration will just pardon them. Until the legislative branch decides to do absolutely anything, expect nothing.
Revolutions don't tend to work out long term. Ask an American how that American Revolution is working out for them. The French too for that matter. Though they are handling things better. Russia, China, and Korea went from under one boot, to being under the boot of the former revolutionaries.
Until people in general find things like massive wealth disparity disgusting. Taking back the stolen wealth and telling the people who would steal it again that they won't stand for it. Every Revolution is just going to be re-corrupted. But if Society at large did that . There would be no revolution. Or need for revolution. There would be no place the thieves could hide. No force they could amass that would keep them safe.
That's literally the niche inferno and plan were designed for. Plan was designed so that local and remote were abstracted away. Everything was just a data stream. You could run inferno literally in a browser. Which you don't get much more in the web than that lol.
Specifically inferno is what android sort of half was. Android traditionally heavily leveraged java/dalvik bytecode for apps. But the root system was native. The bytecode ran on top of that. Inferno pushed the bytecode all the way to the micro kernel.
I still install other os like all these regularly. The thing that has kept me from keeping them. Is lack of a few basic things like modern web browsers. I hear haiku is making progress in that front at least. I have fond memories of running Be on an old Pentium II.
Nah, the front fell off. Yes they are still kicking. But they are more just maintaining plan 9 largely as it existed.
I think it was harvey? They planned to do things a little more sacrilegious. Offering desktop environments other than Rio out of the box. Bringing over compiles for Firefox Etc. And providing a simple easy to use installer like many Linux distributions these days. Sort of like the Ubuntu of Plan 9.
Not going to admonish the devs for doing what they like in their own time. There are a lot of hobby OS out there and they are fun to tinker around with for a few minutes.
And this is likely my own personal nitpick. But honestly rather than starting something new I would really like to see someone adopt and modernize something like Plan 9 or Inferno. A few years ago there was a group trying to do a more modern user-centered version of plan 9. Complete with a lot of the more modern apps that users would want to use on such a system. I think once they saw the actual scope that the project would require, it kind of silently sputtered out to the best of my knowledge. Those operating systems were so ahead of their time. Linux is only just now catching up in some ways.
LOL though I'm sure I will still download the image and pop it open in vert manager for a few minutes later today
Yes all that was implied, anarchist, mutual aid, investment in communities, yes. The point was the national parties were never our friends. And will never be our friend. You can "weed out fakes" indefinitely.
It doesn't matter how much you food bank etc. No National Group as a whole is going to sit up and take notice of you and dedicate themselves to you. Local groups and politicians will though. And it is absolutely part of what will be required to build up and empower local groups to take back leadership. It just won't solve the problem on its own.
Heh, while religion isn't required for that. It's impossible to argue that it doesn't help with it. Putting faith in anything and turning off critical thinking is always a recipe for disaster.
The enemy of my enemy is my enemies enemy. But they can still be useful.
