  • 'We don't care about their market' is such a self indictment of his understanding of global trade.

  • It's a big dish as there's 2kg of carbohydrates there and celery salt isn't as strong flavoured as sea salt.

  • Conn Iggulden's Emporer series is a great fictional retelling of Caesar's life.

    Or

Conn Iggulden's The Wars of Roses series is a real page turner and does a great job of condensing a convoluted war into an easy to understand format.

James Clavell's Shogun is also good.

  • You're right of course. But I'm gonna enjoy the morning-after glow for just a day.

  • It will be interesting to what sort of party emerges from the rubble. On surface it looks like an out and out rejection of culture war politics. They have no path to victory without winning the cities and they no longer have any representation within those cities. Puts them in a bad place.

  • Stakeholder capitalism had to die to make way for the pump and dump economy.

  • I'm no defender of China, but this seems like common sense. If you shat on my front lawn, I'd expect you clean it up before we talk about modifying our shared fence.

  • Someone front ran this particular annoucement though with buys jumping just before the update. Anyone getting in now are just lower in the Ponzi scheme

  • Just about everything Dan Olson does is amazing

  • Marion Nestle isn't just AN expert. She is THE expert in food science. You would be hard done by to find a more qualified and well spoken fount of knowledge.

She literally wrote the book on how nutrition is politicized and obfusticated by capital.

Despite the surname and expertise in food, she's unrelated to the Nestle family. Just a bit of fun nominative determinism.

  • You see, the — the thing about Star Wars is — is that it’s — it's like poetry, you know — it rhymes. Every stanza kind of — kind of rhymes with the last one.

There's — there's no underwear in space. That's — that's the rule. We didn't — we didn't have bras in space. So — so she had to tape them down. It's just — you know — it’s a space thing.

Well — you know — the music, uh — it's not like rock music, or — or electronic stuff. It's — it's very classical. Very old-fashioned. Because — because it's set in space, but — but it’s not futuristic. It’s — it’s more like a — like jazz . That’s what it is — a space jazz. It’s — it’s why the music is what we — well I call it jizz.
