  • I still dont get pickleball... But I do want a movie (think The Benchwarmers or Blades of Glory level of effort) set in the suburbs, styled like a LA gang-land film, where a bunch or retirees, HOA people and PTA parents fight over if the community center installs a racketball or pickleball court.

  • IMO, he has been playing the same over-grown man-child of a character in every movie for 20 years (with exceptions).

Also Happy Madison studios wrote Dana Carvey a blank check to make one of the worst movies ever made and that was the last nail in the coffin for his acting career.

  • Hey, think of it this way, he might canonise the Blues Brothers.

  • Pope Pie-us the... [Checks wikipedia for how many others use the name] XIII...

  • [Insert Team Rocket intro here]

    Prepare for trouble!

    And make it double!

  • Stegosaurus nuggets are better, they have more corners and crisp better.

  • That study was 3 years ago, features to create private (invite only) group chats are supported now.

  • Or Matrix (warning some assembly required)

  • I was disapponted at that, I spooled up one of those instances a few months back and its federated and is magical. If only I could convince my family to move away from that old group text grumbles in person who cosplays as a sysadmin

  • Without getting into the technical side of things.

Normal Windows home edition is to what ever firmware your ISP (Internet service provider) puts on your router to make it play nice with their network.

Open WRT is to cracks knuckles fuck it, ill configure it myself (think Arch linux, or any program/platform where the user is given a bundle of sticks and a phone book of a manual and told "try not to hurt yourself")

Its a community updated router firmware/software project that gives the user a bit too much control. This allowes people who know what they are doing to make some very secure, free, and complex networks, but also gives you the tools to piss off your ISP or break something.

  • Oh, now that sounds like a fun rabbit hole. Say more words.

  • All wireless technology would be a game of cat&mouse anyway, they cant jam everything, the product would just have to be developed to take advantage of multiple open or common parts of the spectrum, like the 2.4 or 5 ghz ranges used by wi-fi.

All hypothetical, im not a product designer nor an engineer who would be able to design the specifics.

  • I feel like if you found a way to do a mesh net (ive been really into Meshtastic as of late, but the data throughput of LoRA would not cut it), and have other members of the mesh sync the file (encrypted and compressed) that would work. Share the unlock code with a friend or a small group, that way you always have backups on other people's devices.

  • Were a few months out for the other shoe to drop on a lot of this shit. Ships take a long time to get places, once the last ones are done with their routes, they wont be coming back. Retailers have stockpiles and wearhouses for things, but those only last so long.

I expect to really start noticing thing to be out of stock by mid-late summer and expect the 2025 holiday season to be a consumerist bloodbath (pay attention to Spirit Haloween, they grow on the corpses of other businesses and their unexpired building leases, if they dont show up, thats an indication that shits gotten real)

  • If your booked in Florida they will put your mugshot in the paper (and now they know where you are). Sunshine laws make it seem like all crime in that state is comitted by one very dedicated couple (Florida Man/Florida Woman) with access to a cartoonish amount of vehicles, drugs, and oversized agressive reptiles.

  • A non-vote is complicit by abiding the greater evil.

You get nothing, you lose. Good day sir.

  • Someone is eventually going to break kayfabe and punch him, those ovel office meeting look incredibly stressful for the guests.

  • He is the most unrealistic part of the film, he had a problem, found the most qualified person to fix it, listened to them (eventually), and then didnt take credit for it.
