  • Not surprised its Dublin, lots of tech companies moved there. Fairly cheap real estate and a lot of tax breaks, probably influenced the decision more. The PR of being able to say things like this probably just icing on the cake.

  • The optics of Canada’s parliament applauding a Ukrainian with ties to Nazis

I apologise for my language, as I normally try to engage on good faith with dissenting opinions. But kindly fuck off.

"A ukrainian with ties to nazis". You mean a literal nazi that actually volunteered to join a nazi regiment? That "ukrainian with ties to nazis"? You are bending over backwards to whitewash him.

  • Being a political strategist in the west has got to be the easiest gig in the world. "Have you considered painting your opponent as a russian asset sir? That way we can dismiss all their arguments as russian propaganda. No, it doesn't matter that you want to actively murder your constituents, they won't care".

  • When "Russian disinformation" is just "information".

"I am sure you see how bad it looks if you report on the facts, so we ask you to instead help us push back against the truth with um...our own propaganda. But for a good cause!"

  • One would expect the entire governing body of a country (minus apparently two people) to have a tiny bit more understanding of politics and history given that it is literally their job to know such things.

One would be very disappointed in the result if that was their expectation, but it would be a reasonable expectation.

  • The lines I am seeing as of right now:

"How could we possibly have known!? Oh the horror!"

"Well, he only served with a nazi regiment, but he was obviously coerced-he volunteered? Shit. Well he was coerced into volunteering!

"Oh yeah, well Russian Propaganda! We need to stand against anything Russia says, even if it is true"

  • They had one a year ago, that was probably far more favorable than anything they will see now, until their minders shot it down.

This isn't even close to being a a legitimate peace proposal, at best it is an attempt to spin a "look, those mean Russians won't accept peace!" news story. There's nothing even resembling a concession, it reads more like a demand for unconditional surrender.

  • There’s obviously a chance for a big break through as the first defences are always the heaviest and it should get easier after that

That's the opposite of Russia's defensive doctrine, which would only be exacerbated further by the ability to deploy reserves where necessary. It could be a different story if Ukraine wasn't having to commit their exploitation forces just to try to reach the first lines of defense; even if they break through tomorrow they won't really have the manpower to do anything with it.
