The lemons are so sour they compressed the files?
This is a spin on a existing meme called "Thour", where various animals or objects are licking a lemon.

I knew about the "Thour" meme, but still didn't get why the directory turned compressed. My guess is that by licking the lemon, the directory folds in on itself, thus becoming compressed.
That'd be my interpretation aswell.
It retreats its non existent head from the sourness, as if folding itself in, generally making itself smaller, hence, compressed.

Maybe because it puckers up so it's smaller?
