Since nobody likes calling it X, why don't we call the platform "ex-twitter"? That way it's technically true, and everybody knows what you're talking about.

How about we ghost it until it becomes irrelevant instead.

90 2 Replyyou don't need to yell
18 8 ReplyNo need to be sour about it.

He deadnames his own child, and yet gets butthurt when the internet deadnames his company. I feel like just “Twitter” is the biggest insult we could collectively give to him as a person, in this context.
60 3 ReplyExactly. This. Twitter. That's it. Melon Husk doesn't get a say, he ought to be ignored completely by everyone.

Call it nothing and let it die
41 0 ReplyI've been calling it Xitter. The X is pronounced "sh."
44 5 ReplyI like the sass, but do people know what you’re talking about in spoken conversation?
5 0 ReplyYou think the people posting snarky shit on the internet are engaging in spoken conversation with other humans? I promise we're not.

When you're tweeting you're X-crementing. Think about that.

I feel like it'll piss off the shitbag more if no one calls it X, so, that's what I'm going with
32 0 ReplyWhy don’t we just stop talking about it altogether.
32 0 ReplyCould just stop talking about it all together.
33 1 ReplyI'll just keep referring it to as Twitter if I ever need to talk about it.
29 0 ReplyCorporations don’t get to have deadnames

I like Xitter. Kinda like shitter if you pretend it's like a Chinese x sound

"Hey guys, did you see what's trending on 10?"

...or - hear me out here - we all just stop using that asswipe's platform?!?
Crazy, I know!
22 1 ReplyJust call it Twitter since Elon doesn't believe in calling people by their names
21 0 Replyor just not talk about it
21 0 ReplyYup.
What the fuck is the point of everyone mentions that it was "formerly twitter".
3 0 Reply
It’s twitter and always will be twitter until dick bag fully runs it into the ground.
20 0 ReplyI prefer Xitter, but to make it more apparent what the pronunciation is I spell it out more phonetically as "shitter".
16 0 ReplyI just don’t talk about the name change, pretty similar to how I’ve barely given twitter notice for the past decade
15 0 ReplyI mean, I just still call it Twitter. Probably will until the end of it.
14 0 ReplyWhich hopefully comes soon
5 0 ReplySame. Out of respect for the original company's employees, founders, and devs.
1 0 Reply2 3 Reply
Who wouldn't know what you were talking about if you just called it Twitter?
Don't cater to the whims of billionaires. Not even a little.
13 0 ReplyThe
artist formerly known as Princeplatform formerly known as Twitter.14 2 ReplyIt's Xitter (shitter) and nothing else.
12 0 ReplyI've been calling it ten
4 0 Reply
Yeah I think twitter is fine. Plus it might drive the rat king out of his marbles.
11 0 ReplyI'm cool with just never calling it.
11 0 ReplyI think we should call it "Ten".
8 0 ReplyKeep calling it Twitter but add @Deprecated so future users know to avoid it?
8 0 ReplyI mean, it still is Twitter. That's the URL that people use to access the site. Tbh I have no idea if Musk actually went through the effort of changing the company name in the business licensing or other company paperwork. Just the logo and header seem to say X. But I agree, I'm getting so annoyed with journalists calling it "the site formerly known as Twitter." so dumb.
7 0 ReplyThey are probably doing it for SEO.
4 0 ReplyAnd it's 5 free words for the 500 word article that could be summed in 40!

Playing into it and calling it X does actually reduce the effectiveness of twitter's branding. Just call it X, let people be confused, and let that kill the fun so they will just move on already.
7 0 Reply𝕏 sounds stupid so I say it, its old brand was something it currently does not deserve
imagine being an 𝕏 user 𝕏ing on their 𝕏 and re𝕏ing other people's 𝕏es
7 0 ReplyOk that's pretty funny. I'm not familiar with the site but the publish button used to read "Tweet" didn't it? Is it just 𝕏 now?
1 0 ReplyI think they changed it to "post"
2 0 Reply
Or twitter, for short
5 0 ReplyAnything is fine as long as we call tweets xcrements
5 0 Replyor just leave that shit hole platform and stop talking about it
5 0 Reply$8chan.
5 0 ReplyI’m still sticking with calling it “Y”
5 0 Reply"Y" is already taken, by something called an "existential crisis"
8 0 ReplyWell “existential crisis” does seem to sum it all up pretty nicely!

If you're so keen on renaming twitter then maybe don't make fun of Elon wanting to do the same.
It's twitter. Always has been.
6 1 ReplyI call it xruth social
5 0 ReplyTwix
4 0 ReplyJust call it X. If nobody understands what you are talking about, consider it a positive.
7 3 ReplyToo lazy to do that.
4 0 ReplyI prefer "site formerly know as twitter" most
5 1 ReplyI think x works if you think of it as short for excrement
4 1 ReplyTechdirt agrees with you
3 0 ReplyI call it: "The thing formerly known as twitter".
It's short and concise, without using the actual stupid name, meaning not advertising "The thing formerly known as twitter".
5 2 ReplyOr just keep it more compact: Xitter.
Pronounced with sh.
2 0 ReplyTwits for short. Just overall, forever.
2 0 ReplyTwitX
1 0 ReplyPermanently Deleted
1 0 Replyhow about TWX?... ( pronounced ..twicks)
1 0 ReplyLil nas X should rename himself to Lil Nas Twitter
1 0 ReplyPersonally I think X premium is a better name
2 1 ReplyHow about "The platform formerly known as Twitter" since the name has been changed to a nonsensical symbol instead of a meaningful word?
2 2 ReplyI will still call it twitter. I hope twitter either dies or becomes a giant nostr relay.
1 1 ReplyHush.
