lemmy.ml is terribly moderated - how and where do you settle this?
I'm not quite sure how I best encourage this discussion - so I'll ask this here. I am somewhat shocked, how /c/worldnews@lemmy.ml is moderated. Large parts of the instance are in my view in tankie-territory like lemmygrad or hexbear, so much so that I find it borderline unaccaptable.
I question myself, how something like this could have consequences. Feddit has blocked both lemmygrad as well as Hexbear, lemmy.ml is several times larger and in many parts not problematic. Would that instance be blocked users would be unable to access a lot of content.
I ask myself, how do you settle this in the Fediverse, especially when it comes to larger instances. If the admins on feddit find the mods on lemmy.ml problematic, which avenues could they pursue to pressure them without defederating.
Other titles I thought about:
Feddit.de not beating the nazi instance allegations
One condition of ending WW2 should have been the legal right to slap any German in the mouth if they set off a . Rallying the volk against the communist outsiders to defend another genocide? That's a slappin'. They get free speech like a dog that bites gets to walk with a muzzle until they prove they're safe again.
The feddit.de thread on this is, as usual for that cursed instance, fucking gross, has a user named luxuslurch@feddit.de who pulls off shit like calling Jews antisemites for being against zionism, misgenders a user in the process, then calls the user whiny when being called out for the transphobia, then doubles down on that in the most ridiculous, privileged, ignorant manner possible. Hardcore transphobic brainworms at play there, that human dog turd outright refuses to use they / them pronouns in any context.
I'm not gonna make a feddit account to bully this fascist piece of shit, but if anybody has one, please report this fuckhead for repeated transphobia.
Yeah its an incredibly bad instance but most of it is just shitty bad and I just thought this was more funny bad because guy getting banned to then 4 hours later go and make a post about defeding is funny. As for the transphobia I wouldn't be surprised if the admins there will just hand wring about freedom of speech and shit like that.
Didn't know it's that bad there, given the content posted i had assumed they're at least radlibs. Granted, that doesn't mean much when both the antideutsche and anti-imperialist left in Germany have an entire wing of outspoken transphobes.
Did he have other topics than zionism and transphobia back then? I've looked at his comment history, but couldn't stand more than a week of it, and hating Palestinians and regularly sprinkling transphobia on top is literally the only thing that loser has posted about.
the whole of west germany should've been thrown in the gulag after the DDR took over, alas, we continue living in our doomed world that we have created
Nah, just whack enough of their Nazi army corps to reach 6 million (it won't take much more than a million since their military deaths were 5,533,000) in the past and then you would've denazified the damned country....
Someone needs to do a socio-linguistic study on Internet German, because it's the most grating way of writing I can imagine. It sounds like someone talking to a bureaucrat, a police officer and their close friends all at the same time. It's a policy paper crossed with a teenager. "Should the instance be blocked, users would lose access to a great amount of content. And I'm just wondering to myself, how can you solve issues like that?" How can anyone, let alone a whole country, stand this style of text?
I think it's the natural expression of anglophone debatebro culture in a language with a more clearly-defined formal register, but I only know a little German so idk
I am confused as to why they are even bothered about this. Aren't there already instanxes like .world and lemm.ee which alongside being pretty big are cracker safe spaces as well? lemmy.ml has even stopped accepting registrations a while ago.
