when i used tinder in october or november i matched with a couple open zionists just to insult them lmao. i called one girl a fascist genocide lover right after she complimented me and blocked before she could report 🫶🇵🇸
Also do people list their race/religion on their dating profile? I have no experience in this but I feel like those would at least be a second date topic.
Yes, granted depending on where you are in America everyone has "Christian" on their profile, on top of that there are a couple of races/religion specific dating sites (black people meet, Christian mingle)
is this the start of an attempt to whitewash and conflate anti-zionism with anti-semitism? I bet we see this term more and more since AIPAC has taken note that their wild claims of antisemitism are being called out as bullshit
Edit: i misspoke. You are right. Conflating the two had been going on since Israels inception.
I meant to say "the start of a quiet removal of "anti-semitism" from the lingo in favor of just outright using "anti-zionism", because attempts to conflate the two by AIPAC aren't working any more.
I haven't seen an article yet where they haven't even mentioned antisemitism in favor of using zionism, but i am confident you see more than i do what with your post count
The article says the person got antizionists even when they set their profile to jews only. If the writer was trying to conflate zionism with jewishness, they wouldn't have included that.
Let's take a few more snippets from this turd for those who don't want to give them a click:
What’s more, while app algorithms are challenging to pin down, Jewish daters say that their matches have gone down since the war started and they think it’s got something to do with the “Jew” stamp on their profile.
“I don’t have a problem with the Palestinian flag – people can share whatever flag they like, but the people who post ‘no Zionists’ are basically saying ‘no Jews’. It’s what they think is an acceptable way of saying it,” he adds.
They're getting warmer now, doing that conflation bullshit. wonder how far they'll take it?
“Before the war, I said on Hinge that I was liberal and interested in politics, (lol) but I’ve taken that off now,” says Hannah.
“I’m hiding that aspect of myself because all the other girls on there who are into politics seem to hate Jews.
“It’s frustrating,” she says, “because I want to meet people who I can talk to about the world.
“But if they’re saying ‘no Zionists’ that doesn’t leave much room for me.”
HERE WE GO! 'no Zionists' is hatred of jews!
There’s always been pressure on Jews to meet each other – it’s one of the factors behind programmes such as Birth Right – but for many, it was not until October 7 and the subsequent hike in antisemitism that matching with a Jew felt necessary.
Jacob says: “I didn’t care before, but now I’ll make a bit more effort to try and find someone Jewish.”
Like Zack, however, he has encountered anti-Zionist Jews.
Now, towards the bottom, they use the terms interchangeably within a few sentences.
So its par for the course at the old conflation station or a subtle shift away from using antisemitism at all.
Most of my generation say they want to Free Palestine but all I want is a good date who isn’t turned off because I’m Jewish
One they're not turned off because you're Jewish, they're turned off because you're a genocide and apartheid apologist. Two, equating someone's dating prospects drying up to people being slaughtered in an open air prison is maybe not the mic drop the writer seems to think it is.
The plan: get into online dating. At best, I find a girlfriend. At worst, one of the Zionists with low self esteem match with me out of desperation, and I lower their self esteem even more
