Going to go ahead and say this was justified.
Edit: The video shows him pulling out what police say was a gun. The gun in question was also hit with one of the shots from the officer and broke the gun. All of that seems like it would be pretty verifiable and difficult to fudge.
As much disgust as I have for cops failing to deescalate or just shooting first and fuck you for asking questions, there are occasions where it’s justified.
Dude wanted to be shot. Don’t know if deescalation would have been on the table.
If dude wanted to be shot and he had a gun he could have shot himself.
This reeks of coverup and a planted weapon.
Yeah if it's true that the guy got a gun and went at a cop then this isn't your usual case of unwarranted police brutality.
That's what the prosecutor says happened, anyway. Wouldn't be the first time a prosecutor has chosen to side with the police over justice.
