The point of the first years of college is to get a well-rounded education.
Condemned by educators? What else is new? Conservatives are the nemises to educators. Florida dummies voted him in. Only Florida non dummies can vote him out. They just have to show up. But I'm afraid there are more dummies than non dummies in Florida. They want his mess and want to be uneducated.
I had my engineering degree and when applying to another school for my masters I needed 3 more hours of a social science so I picked sociology - mostly because it was offered online and it was offered in the summer before I wanted to begin my masters.
One of the most interesting classes I took during my studies. I really enjoyed it and am glad I took it.
I mean... Sociology is a bullshit science but you should be free to study it if you want, and universities should be free to structure their degrees how they wish.
Why does the US right wing constantly scream about freedom, when in reality all they do is make laws that take freedom away?
If he has been officially condemned, can we just go ahead and tear him down? Maybe put in a park where he once stood?
Why have you got core college classes? Do you not choose a discipline and have classes built around that?
I don't agree with this bigot but I'm curious as to what a sociology class covers that is deemed mandatory but also only to people at third level
- Pfft I wish, core classes (aka General Education classes) are classes you need to pick at every level
  So the college says you need a level 100 history class (or 2 or 3) and then give you a list of eligible classes to choose from that probably have nothing to do with your chosen discipline.
  Colleges and educators always claim "it's to provide a well rounded education", but frankly I consider that a bunch of BS and it's more of a means to get more profit for the school.
  
  General education is for primary school,ore focused in secondary and then it is specific in College. It seems very odd to me to get a degree and have credits be unrelated to the discipline.
sociology is really shit nowadays, I write people's dissertations for money and any old bullshit seems to get a first
- The sociology course I took was really bad, too. I didn't learn anything worth defending, the class was obsessed over people rather than ideas, and it was a ridiculously easy A. Every single student my year recieved top marks.
