why are android emulators either nonexistent or utterly useless?
the one thing linux really hasnt been made on par with winblows yet is the dreadful amount of options for android simulation
-the most popular choice seems to be Waydroid, but its such an unneeded hassle to set up at all
-genymotion is just slow
-and than you have things like android x86 which entirely defeat the point of an emulator
how so? People rarely have issues outside of some janky endeavor related bugs. hyprland's issues also effect other applications like wine,
it works on nearly every wayland compositor I have tested, labwc, and enlightenment are included. no idea where you get the impression that it only works on tiling wms.
again, it will work on pretty much any wayland environment, if you need it to work on x11, it can work there too, just use a nested compositor like cage. I have personally verified that you can use waydroid via cage on top of xfce.
and there we are again, thats where it so often ends up on linux doesnt it?
"it works for me so " or, as i like to interpret it "it works for me so there is no need to make it easier"
i have absolutely nothing against you, truly, but this is the exact same point i have seen repeated ad nauseam for so many different problems exclusive to linux
just because difficult works for some people, doesnt mean i shouldnt be allowed to complain about the fact there is no easier option
let me put it like this, you seem to be an outlier and there seems to be an issue with your setup, feel free to reach out on the telegram or github so people can take a look and see if they can help
ill never use telegram again, especially if i need to make an account again, and the few times i actually posted on github it felt so stuffy and crummy like you needed to be extremely careful about every single word you say
if you really wanted to fix something, make waydroid easier to use and most importantly, work regardless of desktop environment
the other thing that needs fixing is the linux mentality
you cant always point your finger at the user, sometimes, and heres the kicker, its not the user
when certain programs cant even run on a stock distro that literally just got installed, like the whim of the code gods are rolling a dice, ill call bullhog on the "its the user" mentality
The only hard requirement is wayland, Thats not a hard sell, works perfectly fine on xfce when using a nested wayland compositor.
Waydroid also has matrix and discord available.
If you weren't willing to at least put a modicum of effort into reporting your issues properly, don't complain about open source software, go use Windows.
You're getting a free product, for free what a surprise. you can complain all you want, but in this case yes, it is your fault. If you're not willing to try and help yourself a little bit, then yes it's your fault.
we can't fix magical problems we can't replicate. I know that might be a little hard to believe, but it is true.
The fact of the matter is on The more popular distros, waydroid is more or less an out-of-box experience now. If you're not willing to help your specific use case get fixed, then it won't get fixed.
