I find it hilarious all the weird marketing shit Democrats do to try (and fail) to win votes.
Meanwhile Republicans win votes on policy wins. They get power, they do a bunch of policy shit their constituents want, their constituents like it and come out and vote for them again.
Democrats are wholly incapable of making meaningful policy decisions so they have to resort to cringe marketing instead.
I don't think this is entirely true. Republicans rely on the culture war as a way to keep their base engaged, which is just as manufactured and artificial as Pokemon Go to the polls. If anything, Republicans rely on ideology more than Dems, because Dems are capable of making some positive (temporary) reforms that can motivate voters. "Republicans give their constituents what they want" is only true insofar as the far right's projects of maintaining white supremacy and cisheteronormative patriarchy are made clear to their constituents as ideological projects they may benefit from. That also takes a lot of work to instill.
The part near the end where a woman is leaning in to talk to her while
has her hand up alongside the woman's head looks like she's checking her Pagh.
this type of shit is only possible in the toxic, cloying environment of transactional sycophants. because only a real, authentic person is going to see this and pull the plug.
also makes me think of that bit about how if you have to run around telling people you're the legitimate king, the delivery undermines the message.
ie. if you have to spend a lot of effort and energy telling people how normal, cool, and relatable you are to the human experience.... it probably isn't true.
