The nice thing about this, if it's true, obviously, isn't even so much about the SC they found but the possibiliy of a true room temperature SC with a similar chemical makeup. It would be quite nice if we can have a good SC for power transmission, or anything else really, by the end of the year.
If this stuff is confirmed, I really do think it would be world changing. One big application would actually be nuclear fusion. That's the most game changing tech I can think of in the near future. It would basically mean unlimited clean energy.
Another one is sensors that could be cheap and extremely precise. Their applications could range from being used inside nuclear fusion reactors, to finally make them possible or at least make them more efficient, to medical and space needs.
