I think trump might win, and it's due to shitty memory and DND
I was playing DnD with my friends, but unfortunately we are retarded get distracted easy so the whole game we would move nothing.
We decided to remove some of the habilities rolls in orders to make it faster, and it worked. The game was finally moving, and the storyline was progressing like a normal game.
This was all about 2 months ago, nowa few days ago they wanted them back, when I started asking why, they would say shit like:" My character is better now"....
Bro just me an the DM where like...but we did it for the time you fucks. Don't you remember?.....
Either way, we voted they won, we played 3 hrs of game and nothing happened we did almost nothing.
GUESS WHAT, we ended up back to o removing some rolls..... Dude they just didn't remember, and that was an 2months ago
They aren't specially stupid, most of them are average intelligence , but they forget.
I'm afraid that so has America, and we end up with this cunt as president.....fuck me
They removed an element of the game that was slowing the players down but 2 months later the players demanded it'd be added back, which slowed the game down again.
The players demanded that element back because they forgot how much it ruined their game so quickly.
They're saying that people who forget how bad it was to have Trump well somehow get him back into office.
I think what they're saying is that Americans don't pay attention and forgot how terrible the Trump presidency was because it's been a few years. Most people think that "we're better now" and any major issues have abated without understanding that nothing has fundamentally changed. Because of all that, Trump will win the election. The DnD portion of the post is just what got OP to think about this.
Sad thing is that there's merit to the argument. It's the old trope of "Americans have short memories."
I think Trump will win the election because of manipulation through targeted social media activities, if not direct manipulation of the results, but that's just me.
There are so many things these days which co-opt and diminish our ability to pay attention and focus, it wouldn't be all that surprising if it's also affecting memory.
The book Stolen Focus goes into these issues, but diet, air pollution, smart phones, social media, and instant gratification tired to consumerism all diminish our ability to focus.
I feel like this post is going to get some people very wound up. Therefore, I'll just say this. Trump isn't unique and the attitude many see in him isn't tied to a political party.
DND players wanted to try to play.by the full rules again and learned that it wasn't working out despite the reasons they thought it might != People re-electing a criminal into office
I am always puzzled by what they fear. My life was pretty good under Trump. I didn't vote him but that doesn't change nothing major changed under him. We didn't start any new wars. The economy was good. I still can't figure out what I am supposed to fear unless it's just irrational fear.
The supreme Court swung to the right and roe v Wade was overturned, for one major thing. There have been rumblings of attacking same sex marriage, too.
You know how the economy sucks now? That’s the aftershock of what Trump did.
We all called it a bad idea then to lower interest rates to zero and then we had a global pandemic. What do you do about a recession when you can’t lower interest rates?
Also: Muslim bans, the rise of racists and Nazis in America, 1mil dead from a pandemic because the Motherfucker couldn’t say “wear a mask”, leaking secrets to Russia and god knows who else, hoarding PPE and then reselling it to states, plus the guy is a socially backwards embarrassing blowhard boomer idiot. He doesn’t know how shit works and is yes-men sycophants are in his ear with their own ulterior motives when they’re not busy sucking him off.
I’ll take sleepy joe over that any day of the week.
