The FDA is screening US cinnamon imports after more kids are sickened by lead-tainted applesauce

First turmeric, now this? You'd think they would need to test for this pretty regularly.
- You think we’d have fixed this for all imports after we discovered Chinese factories were using lead paint on kids toys back in 2007. Instead we took their word for it that they’d stopped using lead and we did nothing to fix our import system

Lead, for that extra sweet flavour. Mmm.
I work in quality and it wouldn't surprise me if the manufacturers simply have a skeleton of a quality system in place. It furthermore wouldn't surprise me if they knew about this or if the lab they are using is falsifying reports. Heads are going to roll and it won't be the people in charge of the companies.
Lead Tainted Applesauce sounds like a cool album name.
