Tankies are very aware of what anarchism is, they just don't think it's realistic to get there without transition through state communism.
They would say that, seeing as step 1 after the revolution is to kill all the anarchists. "Yeah ally with us, don't worry you can have your anarchy after we get what we want."
What's the issue with that? When there's no unifying enemy anymore, I don't see an issue with whichever ideology wins the fight coming out on top. Forever alliances aren't goal oriented. We'd be stuck arguing over semantics and approaches to issues, instead of just getting things done.
I've seen tankies on Lemmy itself argue against the end-state of Communism as unrealistic. Not really sure that tankies are all that coherent.
For tankies, the end goal often is just the state capitalism. I knew countless of tankies, whose only problem with capitalist exploitation was that it wasn't done by the state, and almost always even regular exploitative capitalism was better than its alternatives, because work moralism. This lead many of them becoming conservatives.
