The Texas way: why the most disaster-prone US state is so allergic to preparing for disasters

- That thing is hideous, but it looks like they captured his tiny hands perfectly.
The problem is that to plan for large scale disasters require large scale coordination across multiple counties/towns but Texas has a culture that doesn't like giving any single organization the jurisdiction and power to make those plans. Local governments are hamstrung by over zealous libertarians and state government has the power hungry predators who find innovative new ways to be corrupt.
Texas will always be a victim because the people think it's the way things should be.
They're not allergic, they're just stupid.
- Not stupid, just the people who make the rules are not affected by the disasters or they can afford to buy their way to a place that's not affected when there's something going on. They don't give a flying fuck about the average person. With that in mind they just simply don't want to spend the money.
Texas is like one of those exes who never seemed to think that much in general, and also just loved stupid drama constantly.
