At 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 (today!) in San Carlos (at Samtrans HQ or Zoom), the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) will vote on removing Mike Swire, one of its most vocal critics.

More lanes = more cars which generally means worse (slower) traffic.
Plenty of YouTubes videos for them to learn about that.

curious what this group's proposal would be for that stretch of land where the widened road would be
- Don’t widen it, add more public transit. You’re not going to need wider roads (like the fucking 101 needs to be any wider) if you give people accessible non-car options. And widening the road is a money pit anyway, it doesn’t solve traffic. “Just keep adding lanes” is magical thinking.
He was re-appointed today.
But note this is just a toothless advisory committee, so in the end it really doesn’t matter.
