My birdfeeder cam: male and female house finches. Pair are always together.

Not sure if these two are buddies, or mates, or what. But they are at my birdfeeder every day many times right beside each other. Red one first, then the other one usually flies in.
So after some more of watching these two, they may be mates, and maybe even same species? Wing patterns look the same. The fly around together in the trees of my backyard.
They have names now: Harold and Maude.
Pretty sure you're right, male and female house finches, look at those similar beaks. I am not an expert. They're nice birds, sing pretty.
I'm assuming the red one is the male? In birds, the males are more colorful usually, right?

Meanwhile on mine...
Yep, I have my bird feeder on a thin metal pole, and a squirrel still managed to get up there. So I got an upside down cone thingy, placed on the pole under the bird feeder and he can't get around that, so it worked. :)
It's under the awning until I get gutters on the shed, and so we can watch out the window. I made a baffle that stopped them for a few weeks but one of them figured out a way around it.
Birdfy feeder?
I can't remember. I bought it on amazon, and it's solar powered for the cam
Do you mind if I ask where you are geographically?
