I'd not yet seen Mamdani in a sit-down interview. He gives off strong Obama vibes.
Love an NPR interview, but many have opined that when they see a YouTube link on Lemmy, they usually skip and move on to the next post. In light of this, here's the written article about this interview from NPR's site, in which they share some of the interview highlights in writing.
Being able to see facial expressions and hear inflection allows for a deeper experience. I tend to read transcripts most of the time because it's just faster. But for understanding who Mamdani is as a full introduction, text alone won't get you all the way there, and I'd only so far seen clips.
sure, but even the NPR article opens with a video of the interview. You can certainly choose to share a YouTube link instead of a written article, and you make great points for why. But for maximum reach and accessibility, I generally lean towards sharing text instead of video or audio, if the option is available. There's a reason NPR puts all that work into transcribing the highlights!
