JK Rowling praises news host for insulting trans people live on air - LGBTQ Nation

She wrote a set of extremely mediocre childrens books. I have no idea why the world gives her so much fucking attention for being a horrible bigot.
She's a billionaire, and the owner of a license that is making the most expensive TV show of all times. Also, most sold video games of 2023.
She should be cancelled, because she has such an impact on the popular culture.
Agreed. However the amount of attention given to her vs given to trans folks or anything involving trans people seems to be lopsided.
Growing up, I thought her books were captivating. Her books captivated youth enough that crime went down when a new book came out.
This is a Harry Potter community. If you think Harry Potter was mediocre why are you even here?
Same
What on earth are you talking about? I cannot find a single piece of evidence for that anywhere. That line appears to be as fictional as Harry Potter. The closest thing I can find is this article saying that researchers had seen that there were less admissions to children hospitals during the publication weekend of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince.
Because 'All' is a valid way to browse Lemmy which is why it is offered up as an option. I was responding to the article. Moreover, don't presume to know what I like and what I don't like simply by saying it's mediocre. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of my favorite movies of all time and I quote it pretty regularly. It's not good. Clue I thoroughly love and also quote constantly. Terrible movie.
The quality of something does not equate to the enjoyment of it.
The author has made Harry Potter become associated with bigotry and transphobia. At least, it has a non zero relationship with it. So it’s important to remember that HP is only a set of stories to people privileged enough to be unaffected.
You expect people to know what community they're posting in?
Because some people on Lemmy have nothing better to do than troll communities they don't like. It was way more extreme on the conservative subs, but it looks like they might turn their attention to you
