Re-arranged my setup

Nearly all my furniture I got for free off the street on garbage day or from family. The computer parts however

Im sorry but keeping your back to the door is just too weird for me.
- I get that, I wouldn’t do that either. It’s a closet haha
  
  That does indeed make sense!
I've read that it's not advised to have your monitor pointing at the window because then the light from the window gets directly into your eyes when trying to look at the monitor, so you tend to squint and generally are tensing up which can cause headaches etc. This made sense to me but if it's working well for you that's good 😸
- Yeah... I've noticed that actually 😅. Luckily the sun only shines directly through my window in the early morning but still, I've definitely had my blinds closed a lot more since re-arranging things to this setup
How do you actually watch the TV?
- I rarely actually use it to be honest. I mostly watch things in my living room, but still, I plan on getting a mount that swivels out to face the couch
I'm going to need an explanation. Lol
- Idk what part to explain but I can break down my setup:
  Computers
  Desktop:
  CPU: Ryzen 3700x
  GPU: RTX 3070Ti
  RAM: 24GB DDR5? I cant quite remember
  OS: Linux Mint/Windows 11/Hackintosh (broken) tri-boot. Mint because I’m too lazy these days for Arch
  CASE: Hollowed out modded Mac G5 Chassis
  Main day-to-day Computer
  MODEL: 14” MacBook Pro M3 Pro 18GB RAM
  Work Laptop (mounted under desk for storage, swapped out with personal laptop during the week)
  MODEL: 16” MacBook Pro M1 Pro
  That screen in the corner of the second photo
  MODEL: Mac Mini 2014
  PURPOSE: Proxmox Backup Server for my servers in the basement
  There's also an HDMI over CAT5e/6 receiver and an HDMI switch connected to one of my servers in the basement but it's not really used right now. Trying to figure out how to setup a KVM switch that can switch between my basement servers but haven't put too much time into it yet
  Displays:
  Main MODEL: Asus
  <something>
  4K 160hz
  Secondary MODEL: Cheap Amazon 4K 60hz
  I switch between the laptops and the desktop with a DisplayPort KVM switch. The laptops get plugged into a powered USB C/Thunderbolt dock that one display is connected to (for some reason my M3 pro doesn’t like my second monitor though so it’s always just black)
  Random Stuff:
  Greg Sestero signed Big Shark by Tommy Wiseau poster
  2012 Macbook Pro Retina (got me through school along with a Thinkpad I sold o7)
  Bong collection from back when I smoked
  Model trains
  Cool beer cans
  Stupid amount of old laptops and computers piled up in various locations
  IBM 5151 Display (the corresponding computer is in my closet)
  I also have a cheap 3D printer

  Second, I should have been more specific. I really meant to ask why you arranged things the way you did. In my head, I'm being critical of the setup, but I thought you probably had reasons for why you arranged it the way you did and I didn't want to be negative 😅

Pretty nice set up. I like having a tv kind of in a peripheral. You can watch something or just put something as background noise. Maybe even some lofi :)
I would put the back of the couch against the back of the desk. It would hide cables and allow you to see the TV from the couch.
Then if you need more room, push the desk back and put the bookshelf where the couch is.
- That’s an interesting idea, I may play around with that. I do plan on getting a swivel mount though for the tv so I can angle it towards my desk or the TV depending on where I am

  It could also use a wine/beer fridge ;)
