Pets Sunday; How Are They Doing
Yay! Autopost worked!
Alas for me, this has been a relatively slow week amongst we tiny dinosaur lovers.
All three are healthy and as happy as chickens get. Which is pretty happy, what with plentiful treats, lots of attention, and next to zero threats (now that the fence is patched up all the way, unless something digs in, it's all danger from above, and the hawks don't bother what with the limited angles of attack).
Right this moment, the rooster is in the living room being spoiled rotten. I can hear him gobbling and occasionally screaming..
Which, if you hear a rooster scream, you think something is wrong. And it can be. But this big, fluffy bugger screams any time he gets excited. He's easily excited as well. Any time he sees one of us, he screams. His angry teakettle noise carries, so we know when he's managed to hump one of the hens out in the back yard.
This guy also screams when you walk away from him, when you walk towards him, when you blink, breathe, or exist. Well, definitely when you walk to or away from him. The rest just feels that way.
Both he and the marans hen have developed a habit. When picked up, if you don't go the direction they want to go, they will peck you until you're moving the right direction. I say "you", as in anyone but me because they both have too much sense for that. I get pecked, I drop the winged monster and walk away. Since I am BISCUIT MAAAAAAN!, they do not like me walking away or dropping them. Unless I'm also dropping some kind of treat, which may or may not be biscuit pieces.
It's very small quantities of biscuit, btw. They'd like that to change, but they're ravenous monsters.
Edit: I couldn't find anything quick that is exactly how big boy screams, but This rooster here sounds similar enough after the crowing itself is over
Good to see it worked, thank you for your comment too!
